God, I've never thought I'd prefer some live version of a Tame Impala song - but the part between 2:35 and 2:52 is an ingenious sound engineering wizardry... more specifically between 2:46 and 2:51, in which the "by" from "by the lake" fuses with the crash drum, the flanger completes the first half cycle, and the notes from the guitar spices it even more than in the original recording. ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I can barely believe it, and I'm glad this part is recorded for ever. (I'm using headphones)

That's also my favourite part. It sounds very different because he uses a maj7 chord in between, which sounds spectacular. It plays exactly when he say "bored" and the drum sound is totally diffused. Such ingenuity!

When you look at the crowd and you see zero black people you'd think black people don't enjoy this genre of music but that's so far from the truth. True I mostly listen to underground and old school Hip-Hop but I grew up on the original Much Music and MTV stations before it turned to brainwashing reality show trash. I've always loved music like this and groups like A Perfect Circle, Radiohead, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, Tool, NiN Inch Nails etc. As a black person it's true we don't get much exposure to stuff like this and it's very sad honestly because this is the kind of music that inspires me to want to learn an instrument. I don't know if it's a conspiracy to keep us away from this and just brainwash us on that commercial Nicki Minaj and Cardi B nonsense or just trying to divide us but being exposed to this type of music brings me closer to understanding people of different cultures. I believe that music is the cure for racism.

But if you really wanted to see one of your favorite groups live then buy a ticket to Glastonbury or wherever they are. Up until a few weeks ago I we all set to go to either Detroit or Montreal to hear KP/TI but a few weeks back they announced a date in Toronto which is 40 minutes away from where we live. And I am in a wheelchair for the duration of the rest of my existence following an accident back in 2011. ... TI has become my favourite group ever since I heard them on Sound Cloud 2 years ago. ... i am absolutely ridiculously happy I can see them so close to home. Pinch me.
