I remember that night in 2012 when I discovered this song on soundcloud when I was just a teenager in my first year of highschool, since then I became a fan of Tame Impala and all of Kevin Parker's projects. I've seen Tame Impala, Pond and Melody's Echo Chamber live. I've met Kevin Parker, Melody Prochet, Nicholas Allbrook, Jay Watson and Shiny Joe. I made a lot of friends because we all liked Tame Impala, including my ex-girlfriend. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had not clicked on the play button of this song that night.

How’d you meet all of them
@Danieldealba5 жыл бұрын
@@louisbrody582 in Mexico there is a festival called Corona Capital. In Corona Capital of 2014 Pond made a meet and greet with the fans. Look at my instagram: mdanieldealba. I met melody in another festival called "Ceremonia" in 2015, when she ended her show I went nearby the tents where artists wait until their shows and I asked her for a photo, we took a selfie with one of my friends and he uploaded it to his Facebook. Finally, I met Kevin Parker for literally two seconds behind the scene after tame impala concert in Mexico City in 2017 thanks to a friend of my dad that works for Ocesa, the company that organice concerts in Mexico. He saw me for a second and I was in shock, so I couldnt say anything except "hi", but that was one of the best days of my life hahahahaha.

The fact his new music keeps evolving to something more synth/pop like it makes you appreciate this music more. It's so raw, psychedelic, isolated. It's good he moved on cause he must have been depressed writing this music with a failing family and love life, and little success

Musician Fun Fact: I like that the song is called "Expectation". The solo guitar at the beginning baits us into thinking the song is going to be in 4/4 (Common Time), but the moment the band joins in, we realize that the song is actually in 3/4. The title is perfect for the song because my expectation of the time signature was false from the start. I mean, maybe the beginning IS in 3/4 with the guitar playing a dotted quarter rhythm and we don't exactly know it yet because the drums aren't there immediately to give us a strong sense of tempo, but I just personally love the effect that this causes. (Also, this is my first time listening to a full album of Tame Impala.)

When Innerspeaker came out back in 2010, It was my first year at college. I would cycle every day listening to this album. Then it came Lonerism, same feeling (addicted to the album, listening non-stop). When they released the other albums, it was not the same, I was already into other stuff. Now, this weekend, after years far from Tame Impala's universe, I was on a car trip, driving alone, and I put both CDs on (Innerspeaker and Lonerism). All those feelings I had a decade ago started rushing in. I remember how I felt when I couldn't listen to anything else but Innerspeaker. I was 18 years old, I was kind of discovering who I am (was). The sounds and lyrics of this album resonated with me but back then I couldn't identify this impact. I was an introverted guy ("there's a party in my head and no one is invited")...I had friends and social life, but still I was an introvert. Years have passed, experiences, mushrooms, therapy. Now it's clear how this album somehow was one of the first steps of all of this process; it helped me to pull me into this inner world (my mind, my feelings, my identity) and made me try to access it and express it, and be more open. Anyway, it was an amazing experience to listen to this album again, with the same enthusiasm when I first listened to it. This album is different from anything else. It's unique and evoke so many feelings.

My ex girl friend used to like tame impala, I discovered thanks to her this band and I love it for years Now we don’t share together our passion for Kevin Parker anymore, that’s life

In hindsight I'm pretty sure Kevin wrote all the parts so fair enough man Nick probably added his own twist on live versions though

Everything about this reminds me of Pink Floyd's "See Emily Play": the jamming outdoors, the beat, the vocals. I love how Tame Impala hearkens back to its psychedelic influence but puts a totally modern twist on them.

I love doing reality checks whilst listening to Tame Impala. I think it's because they sound so dreamlike.

I love the way the camera pans around once the rest of the band begins to play. Reminds me of a scene from fantastic mr fox Also, if you are reading this, Kevin I want to say I am truly and deeply inspired by your talent.

In 2010, I was so depressed because of being broken hearted and unemployee. This is the first song by Tame impala that crossed my path. After that I realised I had listened to "Lucidity", "Solitude is Bliss" and "Alter Ego", so I finally sticked to the band 'til nowadays I had no idea how big they would become, and how much I would love them. Currently, I sort of miss those neo psychedelia tunes, but I love the soft rock and synth pop era as well. "Instant Destiny", "Tomorrow's Dust" and "Breath Deeper" are superb tunes. However, this song will always occupy a VIP spot in my heart.
