Even though I am not from Tamil Nadu, I accept the fact that Tamil is the oldest language of India and was in prevalence much before the Aryan Sanskrit and Hindi. Tamil lost its importance and Sanskrit gained in prominence after the Aryan occupation only. Entire India used to talk in Dravidian languages and the best example is the use of Brahui, a Dravidian language in parts of Pakistan even today. Written records of RgVeda have been found dating 1500 BCE. Certainly therefore Sanskrit would be much much older than that date because, script Devanagari was first found dating 1500BCE. Sanskrit was a language in which RgVeda was composed which was transmitted by mouth. Therefore Sanskrit is minimum 1500BCE though the Hindus believe it was more than 10000 years. @@imramesh8694 isn't it true?? Because Sanskrit was developed in the time of Bactrian kingdoms. Before all was Brahmi. (Mauryas language). Sanskrit don't even have its own script. It's written in Devanagari script like Hindi. Isn't it the reason why Sanskrit is called Indo European Language??

Also recent Iron age dating to 3000bc in Tamil Nadu proves that IVC in the North and Tamil in the south are 2 parallel advanced civilizations, but in contact with each other with Script and Culture. This continued through modern history, hence the word North South Sangam. Note that the script and language are 2 different things. IVC, Brahmi, Devnagri scripts are used through out India to write different languages.
