Nice! I remember back in the day some of my old fellow rc racers ran the TL-01 chasi with the impreza shell. They were very hard wearing bits of kit not much would break 'em! However i prefered the schumacher sst rally sport at the time. But the TL-01 was so much better when racing outside... vertualy indestructable them tamiyas!

JAMES A.S. DAVIES Yeah the TL-01 was bulletproof James, so many of them still going strong today 🤩🤩🤩 But as you said on the track not competitive. I use to race the sst fully hopped up in 1-10 touring cars back in the day 😍 Good times my friend, thanks for watching 👊🏻

The sst was much more competitve inside on track. But as soon as i took it outside even with a cover on stones would jam in the belts between the gears! Thats where the TL-01's being shaft driven and enclosed in the chasi were winners!

Loved watching this video! I have a TT-02 with the Subaru Monte Carlo body ordered/arriving tomorrow and watching this video has me desperate to receive it already! I also ordered a full bearing kit, along with the aluminum drive shaft and shaft joints to make it just a little better out of the box. It comes with the Torque Tuned motor from the factory and I have a Sport Tuned motor on my Grass Hopper. In your opinion, would you say it's worth swapping them or is there really not much of a notable difference between the two?

Was kind of as a reply too Creep'n Crawl, like for example a 17t 540 is certainly going too be pretty good on a nimh pack vs a regular 27t on the same gear ratio & ofc certainly will be fairly quick on a 2s lipo as well with a decent esc.

Creep'N Crawl what motors are they & as an example. Something like a 27t (pretty much a stock 540.) too 23t isn't going too be much of a difference even on a lipo between the two, but 17t on a lipo vs 27t you'll see some speed for sure.

A guy that makes insanely detailed bodies on tamiyaclub is called truck norris. One of the bodies he posted last year in june. www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=133708&id=43050 He takes a few months too do these but man is the result amazing, these are lexan bodies for 1:10th scale onroad & rally.
