This was my first RC car, I bought it in 1993 for £300 I still have it and she still runs just as good 30 years on

My first RC car and my grandad built it for me. A year or so later, I got into the whole max power scene around 13 years old and I decided to remove all the stickers respray the car! Wish I would have kept the car and it’s original condition! If they ever relaunch it with the whale tail I will buy it!

It looks great. I've found that, especially with light colors, it's extremely important to back the color with a few coats of white or silver to make it completely opaque. For this car, doing so would likely make the body color better match the yellow on the mirrors and maybe even the decals as well. I'm probably not saying anything you don't already know but the yellow on your car appears darker in places because the body is mounted on a black chassis and there is less light under the body - the shadows are affecting the color. Anyway, I started several years ago backing all my lexan body paint work and it has vastly improved the appearance of my builds. A big congrat's on this one, I love the overall look of this car!!

Incredible! You inspired me to build my first ever RC car because of this build - I saw this back in 1993 but I was just a kid and couldn't afford it then. This video really helped me out and I have to say your attention to detail and painting / decal cutting skills are spot on. This looks great mate. The wheels as you say are absolutely key. The cockpit isnt a big deal for me. I think of it as a rally car driver would need to be higher for visibility vs on track but its a perfectionist issue. How did you stance the car itself? I have the same kit returning after 25 years. I do like the pilot but ive gone with the valvoline as my mate had it as a kid and thats my burning desire still 😂 youve smashed this though good job. Its funny looking bacn when i was a kid i had a 3 series shell i painted myself with halfords paint. It cracked a lot and now as an adult i see where i went wrong. That car took some abuse though i had a traxxas rad 2
