Tamiya Mercedes Unimog 425 Kit Build START to FINISH 58609

This video is a first for Jake Billing on KZbin, it's a Tamiya kit build! I was sent the kit from FusionHobbies to build for you guys, which is an honour in itself! I must say it was a challenge, and I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to create something different for my channel. Once I started building I couldn't stop and I think this is the longest video I've ever filmed. The build took 13 hours to complete! The Tamiya CC-01 (Cross Country) chassis is a favorite vehicle amongst R/C enthusiasts. It’s easy to assemble and offers realistic cross country running. The list of body styles available has grown with the addition of the Unimog 425. The Unimog, of course, is a multi-purpose truck with unrivalled off-road performance and its name is an acronym which stands for the German description "Universal-Motor-Gerat" The 425 variant was a heavier model that was produced in the 1970s and 1980s. It featured a 120hp engine and 2.81m wheelbase.
The Tamiya R/C replica faithfully captures all of the full size Unimog details down to the large snorkel and cap vent and large side view mirrors. The Unimog body is mounted on the capable CC-01 Cross Country chassis, which features independent front suspension and a rear 4-link rigid suspension set up for fun scale trail running enjoyment.

Nice build video. You showed almost everything so that's great. You didn't show building any of the turnbuckles. That's typically the most hated job of any kit build. A little chap stick on the threads helps the ends screw in easier, and remember that one side is reverse thread.

The same kit with a Pajero body took me a little bit under 3 (with plasti dipping the hard shell) :D this chassis is mega basic

Hi Frank, the onboard audio system was installed separately - it isn't included in the kit. Haha you're right there my friend it does sound awesome! The audio system is from Team Associated, it's called ess-one+ engine sound system.
