Hi Greg.. ref adding the wheels to the bogeys, I think you were right.. adding the wheels /before/ painting the bogeys would make accessing the back of the bogeys much harder and needlessly so.

Very nice work! Since most of us don't get to see muddy tanks all that often, take a closer look at construction vehicles and see where and how the mud and dirt are caked on. Or watch Fury again LOL

Important question - If I want to do simply interior ?? 🤔🤔🤔 (For resting crew figures for example )
@MottysMilitaryModels5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, fantastic job, you've probably just built one of, if not the best armour kit of recent times. I built this exact kit and decided against a yawn yawn another fury version. It's a wonderfully engineered kit. Tamiya have kept up with their trend and most other new releases are excellent to. Just wait ubtil you decide that a Dragon kit is next for you....... The instructions are, well, I'll let you decide although more are a lot better now. The kits are so well detailed but a few folks say to over engineered and I suppose that is true in part. The best kit other to this I've built is Mengs M3A3 Bradley, so we'll detailed and beautiful.
@GregsModels5 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes so many great armoured kits out there, spoilt for choice. Although the kits with separate parts for each link seem to me over engineered, i'd loose patience very quickly. I thought my be Panda's 1/35 HMEE next, but I'm still pondering.
@MottysMilitaryModels5 жыл бұрын
They look lovely panda kits and some are but the ones I've built have been a nightmare. Bad fit issues and some, considering they are new are terrible. Which is a right shame as they do modern subjects which I love as when I served I wanted to build so much I work alongside and saw in Iraq and afghan. I know your a very talented and experienced modeller but I would give panda kits a wide birth. Meng, Takom are wonderful kits. I fully recommend mengs M3A3 Bradley. I did the one without interior. If you goto a site I'm sure your aware of but if not your bank manager will hate me as their prices Greg are outstanding, try Dave Coleys Emporium. The prices are, well, just..... Wow. I've had a look for you and that Bradley kit they have in stock and is only 29 of your English pounds and 99 of your English pence and trust me, you will be blown away with what you get and their engineering.

It does not appear that you struggled with the weathering. It looks quite good in my opinion! Well done sir!👍👍👍👍 I have this kit partially built, sitting on my shelf. I did a little a scratch building for small details and such. It's just waiting for paint.

Nice tank! You said you painted the tracks with Vallejo steel. Did you use the Metal Color or the regular Vallejo Model Color? Thanks! N

I'd like to see how you spray the various shades on the body 🤔
@GregsModels3 жыл бұрын
The basics are Black for the shadow areas and the main colour applied to the sides and top. The highlighted colour is applied from above only, this can all be sealed with a satin varnish. Various oils then help to accentuate the panels. One important thing is mixing the right colour shade with oils, trial and error for me anyway. For each build, I'll try something different.

It came out great. I was surprised there’s no interior or engine. Do most tank kits come with just the outside shell and no inner details?
@GregsModels3 жыл бұрын
Yes; only a small percentage come with full engine and interior detail.

I didn't know black stars on the side of the turret was a thing. Why did you decide to do that instead of using the white stars as pictured on the box cover?
@GregsModels4 жыл бұрын
No real reason.
@robertking59 Жыл бұрын
Tank Crews often painted over the white stars, with black, because the Germans used the star as an aiming point. The ammunition racks were along the sides of the turret and would often ignite when a round passed through

Hallo Greg. Love your work. Can I ask when you applied the oil paints, how was that done? Were the oils mixed then thinly applied? I am a relatively new to the hobby and I loved the effect of the oils. Thanks Andy
