Hey 👋🏻 Really really sorry for the terrible audio interference in the video, I honestly don’t know what went wrong 😞😞😞
@taimaishu-nao19222 жыл бұрын
Hey Glen, I don’t know much but usually microphones found on streaming cameras can be REALLY sensitive and pick up hiss from nearby transformers and substations. I’ve heard horror stories from Canadian guitarists being able to pick up radio station transmissions from many miles away (some from the USA, with them being in Toronto) and with clarity to boot! Just something to possibly consider. Maybe take your camera out to that location and see if it picks up that hiss again. It could also be the radio gear making “noise” too so you may want to power that combo on and see if the camera mic picks up the hiss. Anyway Glen, hope I could help and I look foreword to seeing another run-in with the hop-ups.

Is the buzz you’re teeth chattering, definitely not the diffs, they’re as smooth as a gravy butty. At least it’s not snowing like here in the U.K. ! Didn’t get my hotshot, super avante or a PS5 Lol 😂 However I did get my 40th anniversary Porsche ! Now to build or hide in a locked cupboard to pay for a funeral plan ?! Lol 😂. Are you getting one on the channel ? Keep up the great videos. Greatbigste.

Glenn you can rattling on as you say all day. I'm sure thousands of us would still watch. I was really looking forward to this video. Thanks so much for braving the minus five. There are many things that stand out as super about this buggy but above all the level price playing field has to be one. We can all get one if we want and can afford. Just like we can all get the hop ups we want or can afford. No inflated auction prices etc. I know they will fluctuate towards Christmas and yes, it is a lot of money comparatively speaking but this seems to be both a 'character' buggy and one with great potential for the track. I hope you keep it, run it regularly and it doesn't become a shelf queen. Kind of a long term test. I think it marks a great landmark place for Tamiya and it shows their confidence in their products and hopefully the support their customers have too. Be great to know ongoing sales figures.

I didn't like the TD4 at first, but now having seen some build videos, especially yours, I actually really, really like it now! Your one seems to handle brilliantly, at least on the tarmac with those dual-block tyres, it would be very interesting to see what it goes like on a proper off-road track. Awesome video as always, keep up the great work :)

Transverse mid-rear motor and longitudinal battery was always going to have great turn-in. I've been planning on running a shorty lipo longitudinally in one of my Top-Forces to gain more steering on power. This new TD4 chassis ticks all the boxes for a good handling bash car. One of the biggest problems I have with popular 'Basher' vehicles is the driving experience, I like vehicles that still turn in well at speed without understeering or swapping ends instantly. I'd like to see this go around the Tamiya Legends Arena!!!

Excellent and talk about smoothness of the drivetrain it is definitely right up there. Been back listening to Dr. Taki of Tamiya talking about the advancement of materials availability since he designed the first Avante and how it affects development of all versions till now, quite a story really. From the Japan Tamiya channel this car jumps really quite well on track but full options of this car is really not cheap.

Looks sweet Glenn! As far as speed, I think it’s fast enough! What’s the point of being blistering fast if it’s uncontrollable. However, I think with its low center of gravity front shocks and lower ride height I bet this thing would do fairly well on an Astro or carpet track. I would keep the tyres, but put them on dish wheels as not to destroy the originals. Brushed or brushless, brushless is more efficient, but in the end who really cares as long as it’s fun. I still have some old brushed trinity motors that I used to run in my associates rc12 cars, which are in need of some restoration. Enough waffling, beautiful car thank you for the video.

You nailed the looks first time out, you had a vision and it worked. I like a high rear wing but low looks right on yours. Also love the job you did reworking the wiring much better install, you seem to have got the diffs spot on they are not slipping in normal use the tiny bit of slip off the mark is acceptable as you rarely drive like that other than to demonstrate as you did, You’re driving has come a long way since aimless throttle pulsing and finding the curb first timeout (original Avante)😂 that Super Avante looks to handle really well, you have a lot of steering lock yet it still looks stable and drivable even on the ice it was still controllable, Really great demonstration… Please don’t give the haters a second thought let alone a mention you seem apprehensive to allow yourself to say this is a great car. I’d say for the tricky conditions with the torque generated by the undergeared 11double the super Avante looked amazingly stable… People badmouthing a new release before they have even tried one don’t deserve a seconds thought Tamiya have produced a new product line and it works well im excited to get mine done btw I even like those yellow wheels now they are on my Topforce Evo Thank you Glenn you are our hero, I love what you do and the positive enthusiastic way you deliver your videos Btw, is the audio feedback caused by mobile interference. Thanks again RC ELF! To my eyes this kit almost looks better without a shell on it. Its the same with the TC01, both those two with hop-up shocks white springs and blue bits look great naked. In an odd way its a shame you put those Egress wheels with dishes on it, it make the standard kit wheels look horrendous in comparison. Its becoming harder and harder not to spend the money that should be going elsewhere on buying one of these. Great little video series and wonderful to see such different takes on wheels/wings/mud guards combos.

I think the car is a really great Avante successor. Tech demo of overbuild and running great rc car, way to complicated and heavy for racing but really nice engineering. I mean putting 8 ballbearings into the steering system just to be defeated by fastening the servo mounts only to the bottom and not to bottom and side of chassis as well as the inherent play of the servo saver. Eaven though its the High Torque one it still has some play... no idea why tamiya doesnt come up with V2 of that servo saver already.

I kinda like the highwing, as it flows off the shocktowers nicely, which I think kinda hides them sticking out massively with the low position on the wing. BUT, while running, you dont really see the shocktowers as clearly, and it does look nice while running, have to see it from a bit further away with the highwing, and see if that looks good too. Always been a bit of a fan of the top force look with the wing kinda highup tho, not gonna lie. :D Excellent vid, and it was nice finally see you run the Super Avante. :D Still waiting for mine, as its due to arrive in the same pre-order with my anniversary porsches, so probably waiting till december, hopefully get it this year.

Really appreciate you taking the time to try out all the different configurations people had asked for / mentioned. Certainly shows how versatile a buggy this can be though! What are you using as a front wing, looks like a cut down Top Force one? I do find it funny how much the character changes with the change of wheels, those kit wheels, not sure if its the mismatch in colour (come on Tamiya, why do you make yellow such hard work!) or the style. Based on how good it looks with the speed discs I wonder how it would look with neon yellow DF03 wheels? Certainly got alot of food for thought for how I will do mine, and this series has now made me decide I want one (between all the DF01 / Top Force projects I'm playing with!).

I'm a complete convert. I love the mudguards. Caterhamesqe. They are the way forward. Just thinking how some of the icons would look with them.... Clod?? 🤣

Glen your a marvel always find you videos so useful, you started my passion with the TRF range, unfortunately for me this super avante reminds me of Elvis when he made his comeback! Overweight and slightly podgy as for the chassis layout nice new ideas. But the body needs to loose weight, shame tamiya. Glen keep up the great work.

Excellent thanks Cliff, hope the TRF passion is going well my friend 😍👊🏻

It'd be awesome if tamiya made rims exactly like you made. They look so good on that model. I reckon you've done a top job,the colour scheme suits to a tee. I dislike the moon buggy mudguards however

Hey Glenn, nice video! What camera setup do you use? I'm thinking to start my own channel and need some influence :)

Great running video Glenn. Be interesting to see your thoughts using the standard shocks - so we can see/hear through you how much of a difference the trf ones make👍

Sounds like you may have had some electronic noise from your transmitter Glenn never thought I'd like the mudguards but they've grown on me

Think the old pacemaker was interfering Glen 🤣 Anyway top video and love the look you've done with it (personally I'd leave the mudguards off)

My personal preference, high rear wing, it's nicely in line then with the rear shock mounts. Front wing forward and no mud guards, jury is out on the wheel covers. Still a nice model, though.

Nice running running video you will have to get its sister car td2 when it's out.

Still not a huge fan of the looks but the run is impressive and seeing some of the builds with it has changed my mind some on the looks. Still not a fan of have to take vital bit off every time I want to change the battery so the TD2 has peaked my interest more than this one. I certainly don't hate it for sure, just can't see paying that much for something I am not in love with. Yours does look very goo good, not bashing on it or the kit, just have not grown to like it too much yet.

Hi glen the Td-4 comes with bearings when do you expect the Td-2 to come on your channel the two wheel drive version
@TAMIYALegends2 жыл бұрын
Yeah full bearing kit 😊 I don’t think the TD2 is out until the end of February, so tbh I’d guess that actually means April 🤷🏼♂️

Will the car handle a 13.5 motor or just a waste. Car looks great, my car is due tomorrow!!! I'm thinking of a black car.

Oh not a problem at all, it would take a 10.5 if not more tbh 😅👊🏻

If you need one Iet me know. Did an impulse purchase recently and doubt i'll ever build it. I'm sticking with TT-02B builds only.

Still waiting on mine unfortunately I think I waited to long to preorder. Could care less about the avante name on it. It's a td4 to me, I'm sure tamiya will have plenty of variants of it.

This car feels (from my phone anyways) like a cross between the original Avante and the Egress - seems like it’s not gonna complain too much if you drive it hard - do you think it deserves the Avante name based on how you’re feeling so far?? With the last two Avante offerings it was a clear NO but I haven’t heard anyone give a verdict on this kit yet. I love the car either way, definitely gonna find one thanks for all the vids on it brother!!!!
@TAMIYALegends2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm this is a great question 🤔 The name thing was never an issue for me as there is only one Avante. I think deep down I wish they hadn’t of called it that, we would of saved all this negativity over it. I also think people will actually miss out on the great chassis just because of its name, which is such a shame. So I honestly don’t know if it deserves that name but what I can say is I’m extremely happy with it so far 😅👊🏻

@@TAMIYALegends yeah right on that’s the way to look at it - they made a great new car, what have I done lately?? 😄
@leemollison75082 жыл бұрын
@@TAMIYALegends I think, to me as a kid of the 80's there really only is one Avante. Back in the day I derided the Egress when it came out (as a kid I had no idea that it was an improvement) and I wasn't a massive fan of the Vanquish either, however I didn't mind the 2001 (shape) but I wasn't a fan of the decals and wheels, lol. Black special is still an Avante too, although i personally feel the original scheme looks better. Anyway, waffling on:- I would have no problem with Tamiya re-using the Avante name *if* the car still had its distinctive shape, this is where the Super falls short. Aesthetically, '88 Avante, 2001, 2011 and Black Special are all Avante's. Mk II, Aero, and Super are not.....I mean, what do Tamiya know about their own products anyway 😅 could have called it the Super Bigwig and that probably would have been more popular! 🤔 I think they went with an Avante naming due to the effort that went into making a sorted chassis, similar to the effort put into the original.
