I generally don't go out to them as I have "been asked to leave" before but I got out there on a day off during the week so the odds of that happening were extremely slim and that previous incident was years ago. That Scooby looked awesome out there kicking up dust in the ball field!🙌😍 It’s just the perfect kind of surface for rallying. I was thinking of getting a soft dust cover for my fake rally car chassis.. but I don’t think it will work since it doesn’t even have sealed gearboxes.😂 I’ll have to get a proper one someday.

You could possibly fabricate a solid cover with some styrene. I was hesitant to try using it as it seems difficult but it is really super easy to work with. I want 17 more of them now that I have driven this one!! I am putting them down at the bottom of the list for now though... well maybe one near the top!

Yeah, it took a bit to have the right day to go out there. Seems like the only time I have time is when it is rainy or is like 90 degrees and 99% humidity!!! It was a ton of fun and I see now why you enjoy the drift cars! I could have spent all day out there watching it slide around but we had other errands to run so I only got the one battery. We recorded the NSU TT run video at the same park that morning too! So that will be out shortly as well!

Right? I kind of felt bad cleaning it up as it looked like a champion after that run! I had the perfect amount of dirt on the shell. I did have a small farm load of dirt inside the chassis though!!! Next time I am going to try and get much more of the up-close drift action and stuff. We did this prior to a trip into town to run a much of errands so getting covered in reddish brown dust wasn't gonna be a good look in public for the rest of the day! It was a blast and I will be going back there as soon as I can!

Yeah, I was in a rush to grab things and get out of here making sure I grabbed the radio this time! I have flipped it around and pulled it a little tighter down so it should help more next time. It was a ton of fun and I will be going back out there again soon!!

@AddamsPlayground
@AddamsPlayground 2 жыл бұрын
I think the dust cover will help (once turned around correctly) but you are still going to get dust in there but it seemed to do a great job of keeping the gavel and stuff from getting in there which is the big thing. It went on super easy and quick too. I have seen them on Amazon and eBay before but never really needed one. This really needs one!!!! I am waiting to see if they come out with more XV02 kits, the pro is nice with all the hop-ups but I am thinking in a few more months they will release a cheaper one with the body set and everything included, just won't have all the blue blingy bits!

Hi Addam, Great shots of the Subaru right there! I just knew you would love it, as you said, it's just a joy to throw them into a turn and watch it do it's thing as the drifting begins! Gets even more fun when you have a track to negotiate and can start figuring out the best lines and even start using a flick of opposite lock to get the slides going earlier. Not sure what's on my list next for a rally car, the XV02 looks great but it's a little pricey for me. As Craig said, the XV01 is definitely worth a look, and if you can get one, the TT02 type S is my rally chassis of choice. Glad you had a blast with this one, pal! :O)
@AddamsPlayground
@AddamsPlayground 2 жыл бұрын
It was a ton of fun out there watching it and I think in a few months they will being to release regular versions of the XV02 as full kits without all the "pro" options on it. I will probably grab one of those once they do. I just hope they come out with more than the standard lineup of rally shells but we will see. I definitely had a great time out there and I am looking forward to the next time I can make an absolute mess of the car!!!

I have seen them in videos, just have not seen them in stock anywhere. The cover I got served its main purpose to keep all the rocks chunks out of the chassis where they an get bound up and do damage. I was really just dusty which is easy enough to clean up. I just did not expect (for some unknown reason) that there would be that much dust and dirt everywhere. Like my mind didn't catch the part about the big dust cloud it was kicking up for 20 minutes!! So true! The clean up wasn't terrible and that bag did help keep out all the big bits that would get in there and chew things up. Mostly some compressed air (low pressure) and cheap paint brush and a micro fiber towel and everything looks all better. Yes Addam! Love the rally cars and I think if you take off the gas you can totally get it over Elf Mountain. You need the XV-01 in your life dude. It really was ton of fun and I wanted to step into the shallow end and get a reasonable priced kit first and then go from there! I was a ton of fun and I wish I could have gotten a few more up close slow motion shots but I will try and get more next time!! The little bag weighs almost nothing. Yes it was, it was model #47372 and since I picked it up they have started to disappear. They do have the 99 Subaru on the TT02 chassis which looks and should perform very closely to this. I forgot how many decals that kit has. Holy roller!!! Yet another vehicle that looks like a ton of fun! Thanks for sharing! I have a similar chassis bag for my Summit. I found that it was causing the motor to overheat. Granted, I am still running the stock brushed 775 motor without fan or heat sink. Did you find that the Subaru's motor was running hotter than normal too?
@AddamsPlayground
@AddamsPlayground 2 жыл бұрын
I ran it for about 20 minutes on a an 80 degree morning and when I checked it with the tried and true finger poke it did not cause blisters and I could hold my finger on it for a few seconds. So from past experience not much hotter than a TT02 running for 20 minutes. It could use a heat sink but it is not running hot enough to damage the motor. Those summits are hauling some big ol tires around and not surprising they get hot! one of those heat sinks with the fan on it would do a lot of good, may be harder for that bi motor but most are flexible enough to go around it.

@@AddamsPlayground yes! That and the other noise that makes me mental(er) is the whine from an esc/motor combo on a crawler.

@@canuckchuck8836 1000% there with you. I know some guys love it and live by it but that whine drives me up the wall. If they were all like that I would never drive a crawler. I get the HW 1080s just so I can tune all that noise out of it. But those castle brushless setups I would just throw away if given one!

Looks great 👍 how did you find the heat levels on these type of chassis ?
@AddamsPlayground
@AddamsPlayground 2 жыл бұрын
The motor was hot but not outside of the normal range. I am sure the mesh bag caused it to get a little hotter but it was not overly hot and it was pretty warm that day too! I was sweating just standing there driving!!! It was a ton of fun and I am looking forward to getting back out there!

It was ton of fun and honestly not that terrible to clean up. Since it was all dusty stuff the chassis cleaned right up with the compressor and a small paint brush and the body was a gentle blow off and a quick wipe with the micro fiber! I am glad it is easy to clean as I already want to go back and do it again! If we didn't have a ton of other stuff to get done after this I would have run a couple more batteries through it! I will be getting back over there soon for some more fun!

It is a much higher quality car but I can get 3 of these for the price of that one almost. LOL! I will eventually get on of the purpose built rally cars but until thne the TT01 and TT02 kits are fun and way cheaper. Not as good for sure but I am not a good driver so it evens out LOL!

Dit you get a remote controller with it?
@AddamsPlayground
@AddamsPlayground Жыл бұрын
No, this was a kit only and I had to supply the controller, the receiver and the servo for the kit. I use Spektrum radios that I can have 20-30 kits running on the same controller to keep the number of controllers I have to a minimum. I just buy the receivers for each car as I build them and bind them to the radio.
