So the front ones are 9 mm and the other ones are 12 mm when I thought the usual ones are 12 mm so how's that going to work?
@NordicRC3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brad. All are 12 mm hex. It’s just the length that is different. Standard are usually 4-6 mm long. The 12 mm hex GPM alloy ones in the video are 6 mm long, which I used for the rear. The 12 mm hex Carson (probably made by GPM too) alloy ones in the video are 9 mm long. I compare them side by side in the video. It’s meant to widen the stance/width … or like I did, to compensate for a different offset - to move the back side of the wheel away from the knuckle arms so they don’t touch/rub. The good thing is that it works. The bad thing is that it of course leaves less axle for the wheel nuts in the end. So I used some shorter wheel nuts for the front where I used the 12 mm extended 9 mm wheel adaptors. Hard for me to explain in English. Hope it makes sense now. If anybody else wonders: Like I showed in the video, both the 6 mm alloy and the 9 mm extended alloy in the video are a direct fit for the stock Tamiya wheels, front and rear.

@@NordicRC it would have made sense with your English don't cut yourself short man. Do they make a super hot shot triangular hubs in metal that company GPM?
@NordicRC3 жыл бұрын
Uhh not sure. I think they mostly make Tamiya stuff for the more ‘modern’ releases 1-20 years old. Not the 70-80-90s stuff. They also make a lot of stuff for Axial etc.
@bradkalman23533 жыл бұрын
@@NordicRC I've seen the triangular metal pieces someone makes them for those hubs.

Turned out great! I know a lot of people dislike cab forward buggies but I always liked how this one looked. It doesn't have that boxy style sp many of them have so it still has some Tamiya character. If I ever get an '02b, it will.be with this body!

Ohh man thats one sick build, turned out really nice. Body-design on the Dual Ridge is way before it´s time, that frontwards cockpit is what the modern buggys and truggys looks like today.

Hi Mattias! Thank you! I enjoyed the project although I got a bit carried away with the bling bling. And yeah, the selling-slogan of the Dual Ridge back in 2014 was ‘The Future is Now’. Quite fitting 😊

Goddag Mikael! Love the new boots! The Louise Rocket's finish off the buggy perfectly! You are a tease - I thought we might see a tiny preview of your beautiful buggy running up the street, but then you almost revealed the last part in this jigsaw, instead! Can't wait to see it running, if it ever stops raining! All the best, my mate! :O)
@NordicRC3 жыл бұрын
Goddag Mark! Yeah the tires/wheels will be great for the speed runs … that is, if it ever stops raining 🌧 We had a couple of good days in September but that was when I was working. Going RC’ing and filming will be a puzzle and a lottery for the next 6-8 months at least. Ohh, well, at least we have our work benches and indoor lights for the next 200 dark evenings 😊 Ahh, yeah, one more indoor video and swap for this one. I’m beginning to doubt it will be out and running before next spring. Weather forecast says rain and wind for the next two weeks. The weather gods must think we are still tough Vikings who can stand all that rain over here. They haven’t noticed we now are weak little hobbyists who just wants some sun. Hope the English weather gods are treating you better. All the best to you, Mark.

Ah, that was too exciting, now I have to wait one more week to see what you got, Mikael! Super cool you managed to include some HBX parts on it, good job! Yeah, those front TT-02B wheels, I had same issue with mine, I actually had the wheel inside rubbing on the suspension arm, so quite a lot of plastic came off, so definitely next year I need to sort that out properly. I like those Carson hexes you got, the tapered inside looks well made. Nice video, I really enjoy that crisp clean style you got!
@NordicRC3 жыл бұрын
Hi! He he, nothing tooo exciting, Mads 😊 And yeah, HBX make some nice cheap foam inserts. I suspect the Carson hex’s are made by GPM Racing too (Carson rebrands a lot of GPM stuff). So good quality. And thank you for the nice feedback Mads!

Thanks man i appreciate that and your vid inspired me to make a little vid i am still learning! Just building a TT02 Gazoo Yaris but got the Bottom og kit but came with ESC and Tuned motor and spent around 140 on hop ups! I didnt care about the reverse TRF arms to spend 250 on srx. Maybe the TT-02R but still needed body and ESC motor so I rather build standard kit and slowly add my Yeah racing and Tamiya hop ups as I go! @@NordicRC

As far as I know Louise design and manufacture by their own. They certainly brand themselves as unique. But I could be entirely wrong 🙃 Maybe Duratrax, Louise and others got the same manufacturing company behind them. And thanks!

Hi, great build and fantastic video, great editing skills there! im currently using stock tt02b wheels on my brushless plasma edge 2, I was keen to know how you got on with these ones and if you have a link to any videos and also a link to the exact wheels that are shown in your video as my stock ones are struggling badly when they reach 85mph, many thanks Daz

Hi bro! I think these Louise wheels would struggle badly at 85 kph too. I think you need some good belted tires for that kind of speed.

Hiya Mikael. Hey it does look like a road rocket now! I knew it couldn't possibly be finished because I can still see some of the standard bits that it came with! Does that box at the end contain some blue nuts for the back wheels so they match the front? A perfectionist like yourself couldn't let it stay like that :-) Hope you are having a good Sunday matey. Best wishes.
@NordicRC3 жыл бұрын
Hiya Pete! He he, I kinda like that the back nuts are different from the front. Looks like there is a meaning behind it 😊 And I prefer the nylon band compared to the thread lock on the smaller blue nuts. Got plenty of other blue wheel nuts though. Maybe I’ll put them on just for you in the next video 😅 And no, no more bling bling parts … But something else we talked about previously about the servo … Great Sunday here. Lot’s of Pokémon, dolls, balls and loud kids 😌 Hope you are having a good quiet Sunday …

Louise tires age failure, ballooning
@NordicRC3 жыл бұрын
They do? Mine seems perfectly fine. Got some 5 years old or something and they still look and perform great. But yeah, these tires aren’t meant for crazy speed runs but for performance. You have to have another compound and belted tires if you wanna go really fast.
