It's so great to see a talented pro use this product! I've been bashed for using the Tamiya Weathering Master sets before saying it's a cheap hack technique. So again thanks for validating the use of this product!!

Glad to help! Yes, there is nothing wrong with this product at all. Fast and works fine. It's how good our work looks when finished, that's the real test - don't you think?

These Tamiya Weathering Pads have really upped by game on Gunpla. Its so easy to apply light touches and easily fix mistakes if you feel like you have gone too far. I'm now trying to get all of them lol.

I'm glad Tamiya gets some competition, although haven't tried AK. Their branding looks similar to ammo MIG, wonder if they're affiliated? 🤔

It'd be interesting if someone could tell us if it's a rebrand or they are making it domestically.

i know this video is old, but i just saw it as im getting into gunpla building. another trick you can do (with practice on trash pieces) is that you can flick the brush with the material on it. the flicks onto surfaces add random effects of both size and area of coverage. the finger trick to spread on oil/sweat in some areas will help this effect to stick, but not really needed. The foam applicator that comes with those effect kits, can be used in a very light touch dragging motion on edges and surfaces to create an "over time / dirty rain" effect, e.g. using the shin of a leg, you can drag from the top edge of the shin, down the surface. btw, as finding the actual model kit version of this effect tool is tough, using black or charcoal grey eye makeup can do the same thing (ive been using that recently and i see similar results).

"Hey, different now is they come with instructions. How cool is this? And it looks like it gives you a number of steps, etc. to use, that's very helpful. So, let's put that off to the side and not read it!" I just about shot milk out of my nose.

Do you lock the Tamiya weathering in with a light coat of varnish either Matt or Gloss. No one really talks about it but the weatering doesnt exactly dry so it can be easily smudged out if you handle the model.

Newbie Question: I just received this set and the instructions mention “semi wet” applicator, yet I can’t find one video instruction of anyone touching base on this. All videos show the powder applied right onto the model. Also the powder is hard and you can’t just scoop it off. Okay so do I need to break the powder down? Does the model or the brush/sponge tip need to be semi moist? Anyone with a experience are more than welcome to respond, thanks in advance.

I bought pack C at first, and the orange rust works wonders, however, the silver and gun metal dried out and hard to apply, I tried water, zippo, and found that Mr. weathering color solvent helps a bit, but not prefect. I love the stuff so much that I bought another pack C. The silver is wonderful and the gun metal still a bit dry. I found it happens often with their metallic colors.... any tips on that?

Hi Lincoln, Happy Easter. quick question. when you do the weathering with the brush and let it settle for a while. can you spray a light mist of Matt varnish on top to seal it in or will the varnish dilute the effect? cheers Will😮

Can I apply these kinds of weathering effects directly on the plastic model or do I have to prime and paint all surfaces first? This is a lighter hobby for me, and I am simply looking to spice up some of my models that I've already constructed that were never painted or primed.
