Ok, so I didn’t get to record the entire install, but today we do have a quick look through the lighting system.

I'm guessing that a GOOD run in the woods might require some proper tires! You are correct with the "American style" taillights. It's a dual filament bulb, that brightens for turn signal and brakes. At least until 1983, when we adopted the European standard taillights. That light controller is a neat bit of kit!

Great videos as always! My XR311 build needs some attention as I have got some shocking wheel wobble which I think is down to over tightening on the 2 piece wheels. What lighting kit is that? Love the way it operates!

The board is my own design, I could never find a controller that did what I wanted. I’ve got 3 I think in various models and I’ve sold 4 or 5 to other people. There’s some info on www.74hc.co.uk

wow awesome, i have just gotten 2 original xr311 kits unbuilt and iwould like to put lights in one of them can you advise what to use please

In general anything sold as super bright, or ultra bright will do the job. For resistors when running on 5v or 6v 220r 1/8W will cover all the colours, you can use a lower value for a bit more brightness on the whites but the difference is minimal

Which light board did you use? How do I set it to USA output mode?
