The 3 different modes of Vibration Compensation on the lens: VC MODE 1 The standard mode that strikes a great balance between the stability of the viewfinder image and the stabilization effects. VC MODE 2 Exclusively used for panning. VC MODE 3 Prioritizes the stabilization of the captured images and forgoes the stabilization of the viewfinder image.

Great review my friend for the looks of it it’s a great lens paired with your D850. For the first time I’ve purchased a Tamron 18-400 paring it with my Canon RP and I’m as happy as can be it has not left my camera. Looking forward to Part 2. Have a great week.

Thanks for watching, much appreciated. I think the quality build and clarity of images are what caught my eye the most on this lens. Look forward to sharing my final thoughts and images next week in Part 2. Have an amazing week, take care 👍🙏📸

The extra 200 mm is going to spoil you, Adrian! Good on Tamron Australia for recognizing your talent and lending you that lens! I have heard that the Nikkor 200-500 is sharper but I have many friends that use that lens and love it. They and you get great results with it. I would think it would definitely be sharper than my crazy 800 mm Canon. Thanks for making the video, I’m looking forward to part two!

Thanks for watching Phil. I do like that 600mm 👍 i could have used it this afternoon for a specific shot I wanted, but alas back at Tamron HQ now. Hope you have an awesome weekend my friend, take care 👍🙏

I tried both nikon 200-500 and Tamron 150 - 600 g2 . Lots of people saying nikon is sharpener than Tamron but i used both on nikon D780 i find the Tamron is better than nikon not only sharp side but create beautiful colours.

I have a friend with a D780 who has the Tamron and said exactly the same thing. I was happy with the way it handled. Thanks for watching.

Great video Adrian, nice of them to lend that out to your for a couple of weeks. An absolute beast of a lens, size-wise. But looks great quality as well. Fantastic images throughout, as always. Loved the photo of that little red and blue bird and of the Osprey up in it's nest. Looking forward to the 2nd part of this review. Hope you are doing well and having a great weekend! Take care!

Thanks so much for watching Paul. I think you can actually get this lens for the Sony, only it doesn't come with the VC which is kinda of a bummer. However, Tamron have JUST released their new 150-500mm lens specifically for Sony and it looks seriously impressive. I'll leave a link you can check out if you were interested to the USA site. Have a great week mate, cheers 👍🙏📸www.tamron-usa.com/product/lenses/a057.html

Adrian, I enjoy hearing your opinion, thank you. Tamron G2 lenses are very good, I have their 24-70 F2.8 and it is amazing, very sharp with great vibration compensation. I considered their 150-600 G2 and I am sure I would have been satisfied but ended up getting the Nikon 200-500 and I have been very happy with it.

Excellent Part 1 review Adrian! It looks like you were able to get some lovely images (especially of those Crimson birds) and that B-Roll was quite impressive I have to say. Great video Adrian I have the older SP it's a great lens and far more versatile than a prime. theirs a couple of professional wildlife photographers on KZbin who use the Tamron 150-600 (sp or g2) one name comes to mind and thats check out Morten Hilmer he has used this lens in the field for a number of years.

Thanks for watching Andy. I can see the advantages and disadvantages using this lens compared to a prime. One of those things I mention next week is that diverse focal range compared to fixed. I just wouldn't have got some of the great shots I got if I were on a fixed focal length lens. Have a great weekend mate, cheers 👍🙏📸

I'm not going to the gym . . . .just going to go shoot some birds instead! Wow, that'd have a bit of weight, but the shots you seem get through that lens is just astounding. The VC demo really highlights how good that is too.

Haha - you're not wrong. After a while you feel it in your arms and tops of your legs. Like I said, people would best use with a monopod or tripod. Yes the VC is super impressive. Thanks for watching Denise 👍🙏📸

Hi Adrian, wow, quite impressing results, especially the hand held b-rolls on 600mm. I think, you'll know what you hold in your hands, when you are using it - 2kg is much :) But anyway, I think, especially for your wildlife photography - but also for your wildlife b-rolls - this lens would give you serious advantages. As it is not the most expensive lens on the market and it also fits really fantastically to you - you should go for it ;) I liked all the photos and a great review as well! Nice greetings, Christian

Looking forward to part II Adrian after a comprehensive in field review. You mentioned some hunting in area focus mode - how was it on spot focus ? I’ve not checked out the price yet but as you know I’m missing a long lens and that reach so it will be good to see next weeks conclusion 👍🏻
@adrianalfordphotography3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew - thanks vey much for watching. Doh! Would you believe that is the one thing I didn't try was spot focusing. I think the reason why it hunted a little was there was not a discernible contrast difference between the sky and the bird. In terms of pricing, for what you get, it's pretty good value in my opinion. But I'll disclose all next week back in the studio and I can't wait to share the shots I got. Had a lot of fun. Have a great weekend mate, cheers 👍🙏📸

Hi Adrian First thank you so much for the review. I have the former version of this lens and im quite happy. A bit frustrating is the AF speed when for example trying to photograph common swifts, which are very fast also on D850. Have you used it to take shots of fast flying birds? Thanks a mill in advance. Br Claudia
@adrianalfordphotography3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching. I actually did get to fire a few shots off at a very angry seagull chasing a tern who had stolen his breakfast (think it had a garfish in its mouth) you'll see the shots next week. They were darting all over the sky pretty quickly. The lens got them ok on the D850 using group area auto focus on my AF-button. Definitely a great lens for the price. I'll share my final findings in next weeks video. Have a great weekend 👍🙏📸

I think it does work with the Z cameras with the FTZ adaptor. Tamron don't make a Z mount.version. I have seen some KZbin videos with people using the lens with the Z7II. If you search I'm sure you'll be able to find some to look at.
