Thank you for giving affirmation to my purchase of this lens. As a hobbyist new to wildlife photography, I am still in the practice mode to capture birds in flight. I live close to the St. Louis Zoo so I enjoy taking the Tamron 150-600 g2 lens there to capture some still images of the animals. Great review and validation of this lens. Stay well!!!

Great 2nd part of the video Adrian! So many great images here, just beautiful. I checked out the Sony link you gave me last week but I think I've decided to invest in a top of the line 24-70mm instead to replace my kit 24-70, seems a more logical purchase given what I photograph. But I can see a 600mm in my future some day. Thanks for a great video and images! Hope you are doing well and having a great weekend!

Thanks for watching Jake I appreciate it. Yes you can use this lens on a D5600. However please note you’re camera is a DX or crop sensor camera. So instead of 150-600mm you’ll get the equivalent focal length of 225-900mm. Cheers

Hi Adrian, yes, weight and space is definitely a point to be considered, especially when you are traveling the world. But I think, as you said as well, the options for wildlife and landscape photography in Australia (only) are outstanding - so no necessary reason to travel international for you :) I said it last week already - this lens looks amazing. I think the corner bluriness wide open is a thing, you could come away with, especially in wildlife photography I guess, where the edges are generally a part of the bokeh in most cases. And for landscape photography you can stop down and use a tripod. A great video, have a fantastic weekend, Christian

Appreciate the video. Nicely done. I bought the lens in January when Tamron was doing a rebate; cost was a big factor. I too have the D850. I'd love to hear your recommendations on settings and best conditions to shoot with this lens. Your handheld shots were very sharp and I find almost impossible when I attempt. I also had noticed the ISO really gets pushed when trying to get the high shutter speed. Any suggestions would be great to hear.
@adrianalfordphotography3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Scott. To use handheld you really need bright conditions like I had. I stick to Manual mode and have my aperture at either 7.1 or 8, shutter depends if the bird or wildlife is stationary or moving. Minimum 1/2000 for flying. ISO set to auto between 100-2000 and let the camera pick it. Anything over 2000 and I find I bit too grainy. Cheers 🙏

The big question is the quality of the mechanics in that lens. Many people talk about autofocus issues after 2 years. Is the Nikon 200-500 really better built?

I believe the Tamron is bettrr value for money. As for the “many people” I’d be interested to see how they treated their lenses to be having autofocus issues after 2 years.

Hey mate! Thanks for the wonderful video. Is Tamron G2 any better than the Nikon 200-500? Your views would be much appreciated. Thanks
@adrianalfordphotography3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I think the Tamron has it over the Nikon in terms of sharpness, clarity and reach. It's lighter and not as bulky as the Nikon. With the Tamron however you need good light for it to work to its best (as in bright daylight for bird and wildlife anyways). I will be buying it eventually when I've saved some more cash.

Excellent review as always Adrian and loved many of those images you were able to capture. Especially those of "The Theft" - lol. You really don't think you'll be able to travel internationally until the end of 2022?? That just seems so wrong on so many levels. I'm not sure it's much better here in Canada at the moment but hope springs eternal they will start to actually follow the science ;) Cheers and thanks for the review!
@adrianalfordphotography3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob for watching. Yes unfortunately here you still can't travel internationally unless for emergency or death in family. You have to quarantine at your own expense for 14 days upon return which costs approx 3-4000 AUD bucks! Leaders of course are exempt and can travel to summits and attend things like Olympics, meetings, parties etc etc. It's so funny though how everyone (worldwide) are opening their eyes now to the "games" governments have been playing in a bid to establish power and just how much they can get away with. Have a great week mate 🙏
@RobOnRefresh3 жыл бұрын
@@adrianalfordphotography - Hey Adrian, Yes even though the restrictions are not quite so onerous upon return here (3 days quarantine at about 2000 CAD in what we lovingly refer to as Covid Jail) and then another 11 days quarantine at home, it still makes you think - "Travel internationally? Yeah...I think not". At least they are FINALLY going to allow fully vaccinated citizens and permanent residents the ability to skip quarantine (you still have to take the test before and after the flight), they are still not even allowing fully vaccinated non-residents in. Where is the science in that? We're all taking the same freakin' vaccines for the most part. I'm with you that people throughout the world are starting to see the whole scenario for what it is - a complete and utter hypocritical power grab.
