Hey Chris, thanks for all the info you pass along you've have helped get me addicted to salmon fishing. I am coming up on the 14th with some buddies and pulling my 24' Angler Qwest pro troll. My question is reports show winds at about 11 MPH out of the WSW, what can I expect as far a wave heights. I know there are other factors but if you can give me an idea in case we need to make adjustments. Thanks again for what you do.

When you talk about speed is it at the ball or surface. I am newer to trolling and am using a fish hawk.

They are called Dead Set releases. I've had some for several years and they are still in service. I've never had to change one due to wear.

Unfortunately I don’t know the answer to that. You may be able to reach out to some small fish smoking shops and see what they can do. Otherwise I’d suggest taking a charter up here next year and taking home a bunch of fish to freeze and enjoy later.
