This is a good idea but then the problem of whats classifying rank occurs My solution to this would be job levels but then it would be weird because as all the guards reach reach max level nobody will salute So a new idea total kill count The most kills general The top 5 commander Top 10 captain But then what if two guards have the same kill count should they both be general or both be commander or should the first one to get that kill count be general then the general stays general until someone gets more kills then them but what if the general dies and the next 2 in line have the same kill count Basically there will always be a problem stopping good ideas from being possible and if you have an idea on how this could work include it in the comment next time

You should make some sort of market token. How to use: You place it on a chest in the your village and it marks it as a market chest. How it works: You place sellable villager items into this chest and whenever a wandering trader comes, it will automatically check for market chests in the village. If it finds any, it will take those items out of the chest and replace them with the price they costed in emeralds set by the current economy. Why you want it: Once your village gets big enough, manually taking all of the items and selling them to the trader will become a pretty annoying and stressful task. Notes: 1. Villagers will not place items into a market chest. You still need to do this manually. 2. Traders will only trade for villager items, and it will only trade with the items that it spawned with. So if you are only allowed to trade apples with the trader during that day, then the trader will only buy apples from a market. 3. A trader buying items from a market will effect the economy the same way as buying them in person. P.S. If you have any other ideas for a market token reply here and I will edit them into this post, and if you like this idea, please like so Tango can see it. (Edit #1) Idea based on @LazerRaid55's idea: Any type of automation comes at a cost, so an automatic selling system--A.K.A. Market Token --will provide slightly less emeralds than selling items in person.

That's cool but I think it should be an actual building like trading hall or something as I think coding it to read a token on a chest might get a little complicated and can cause more bugs. But brilliant idea think this should be done!!!

I would say that making a building that the traders go to and then giving them a stall would work too, similar to how the tavern and kitchen work. each trader would claim 1 stall of the day, if you have less stalls than traders that day then they go to the town hall as they do now.

I commented on another person's comment that we might could, after defeating the necromancer, maybe at least raise one or two villagers from the grave, probably on, or even just use this artefact to murder your villagers to make a more efficient and happy absent village, but with a reputation cost to visiting nomads. or just a zombie uprising.

Also another suggestion the guard can attack any mob that seems a threat to the player as well. If the player is being attacked by a skeleton, creeper etc. The guard will help attack the mob that's attacking the player.

Not creepers tho, they’ll die, and also, if they know that it attacked the player it would be by them dealing damage to him, but creepers die by doing that, which in consequence would make guards have to attack every creeper they see, causing lots of trouble to them

@@TangoTekLP add a fisherman and the woman version of the fisherman as well! The fisherman will have an animation that collects items junk or valuable, fish and salmon. The fisherman will drop the caught fish at the community storage for the other villagers to eat or for the chef to cook cooked fish or cooked salmon.

I've seen a lot of comments and had a few ideas of my own. Here they are. Miners have a second type of mineshaft (call it main shaft) that is 3 blocks wide and maybe 3 blocks tall and allow the miner to build and ride minecarts to the end. The druid would also not fill in this path, but change the blocks around it (the walls and ceiling). Either guards can use a bow or sword, or a new villager can (like a hunter or archer guard) I've seen comments that an archer guard could have a tower and he could light nether-rack on his tower to alert the sword guards where the zombies, skeletons, etc are. A hunter could use either both a bow or sword, or maybe a knife, and he would hunt wild animals (not villager animals that escape from pen) like rabbits that get into the fields or zombies under trees (he should also be very fast). As well, the guards, archers, hunters, whichever, could tame wolves and have them help defend the village. Speaking of rabbits, they could be a villager animal too because they provide both meat and rabbit hide which can be made into leather. Chicken feathers need to be saved for the archer villagers' arrows and miners need to mine gravel so you can make paths or for the flint in arrows and flint+steel. Fishermen (nuf said) Make it so pathways are slightly faster so that they prefer walking over paths and gravel and cut grass pathways are different in what percent increase they give. Next, villagers like a lumberjack or blacksmith could fight back against zombies (though they don't actively seek them) because 1) they have weapons like axes typically on their person 2) they are very strong from years of chopping trees or hitting metal. One of your villagers could create golems (iron and snow *of course this is either because they live in a snow biome and they picked it up with a shovel, or you donated snow to community storage) and guards would work along side them and if a snow golem or archer villager accidentally hits an iron golem, the iron golem won't hit back (also archer arrows would do no damage to other villagers or golems) Good job, no, GREAT job on your mod sir! Yes I like this one idea, also one thing I would like to see is an option maybe to toggle on or off to see your villagers' health, I mean this can be done if one uses the ToroHealth Damage Indicators, but it would be nice to see their health to maybe help them out and throw a Potion of Regeneration at them if their health is too low to prevent them from dying, another idea maybe idk how hard it would be or if possible is maybe a leaderboard or some sort of list that you can only put and see it in the town hall to see how many villagers you have and how many of each type, mostly useful when you have created a really huge village, but mostly to keep track of stuff you have, also it would add more uses to the town hall and make it more like a town hall to keep that record, and maybe how many of each type of building you have too.

How about we go all out and make it repell zombies that are not controlled by a necromancer? We have cats for creepers and dogs for skelletons, so why not? This would make the druid quite stronger, but it already has some quite op abilities like regenerating ores and free bone meal effects on plants.

Tango you should add a block or a new NPC in the town hall that allows you to see the "History" of the village. Basically acts like a log for the events in the village that allow you or other cooperative players to control big sized villages. You could filter thing by importance, like the most important could be deaths, new buildings, nomads recruited or newborns and new adults to the least important like a guard took damage, skill improvements, very sad or very hungry villagers... At some point with 30 villagers its going to be difficult to track every event in the village. Maybe make the teacher the historian. Good work on the mod looks fantastic!

Rather than invisible lights, how about a "gas lamp" that simply has far greater lighting range. See images under "Gas lighting" on wikipedia. That way, four proper gas lamps take care of your entire town. You could give the guards the job of restocking lamps with coal when a lamp's supply drops below 50%.

I like the idea but think a brazier would be a more fitting light source for a medieval setting, which also actually uses coal or charcoal. Alternatively, you could simply prevent mob spawning within the walls or fence of a village (the same way a Magnum Torch from Extra Utilities 1 worked). This could provide extra incentive to build walls, and would mean you don't have to light up _everything_ - which in medieval times would be a little unrealistic. Edit: Thinking about this further, I had another idea - perhaps make guards themselves prevent mob spawning within a 24 block radius of them similar to players.

It would be cool if the upstairs on the tavern had a hotel, like a place where nomads can sleep during the night? So, for example, a few nomads are wandering around your town, and the sun sets. If you had added the hotel, then the nomads would check into the hotel, giving you one or two emeralds. If you haven't added a hotel, the nomads would walk back to where they came from, like it is now.

To elaborate on that idea, you could make it so that when all the guard posts are covered by atleast one guard, then the unassigned guards can go to the training centre to train. You could also make it so during the day they dont just sleep they can train. Gives them something else to do other than standing around 'protecting' the village.

Solution for this is that Villagers will randomly lose some of their skill in the current profession. This will happen more often if villager is unhappy, an he will lose more skill higher his skill level is. Skill drops will make intelligence more important, because higher it is, faster will villager get to 100 again. Tango, if you see this please reply and say you will/wont add this. I was wondering if you could do a version of this mod but for pillager's, what do I mean by that?, well I just want to see what it would look like if you were to do make the pillagers better like your doing with the villagers, here are a few of my ideas for new pillagers: * pillager soldiers (pillagers with a sword, axe, or maybe a new spear like weapon, and shield) * pillager war wolfs (pillager tamed wolfs) * pillager builders (pillagers that would build ladders, bridges, and maybe place down TNT and light it) * pillager alchemist (pillagers that use splash potions as a crossbow replacement) * pillager Calvary (a pillager or pillager soldier riding a horse with iron or leather horse armor) * pillager warlord (a boss version of the pillagers with some new gimmicks like using a giant battle axe). so yeah, those are my ideas and I don't think that it would be possible to do ALL of these but I think there are some good ideas here.

Sir would refer to a higher status of noble rank like knights or other nobility which guards arent. I think as previous comment said, certain professions of importance can have sir added once maximum level is reached... A cool idea though

@@zesusdk If I remember correctly, half of the English Great People are Sirs. Also, I don't think Tango should add discriminations to his mod or it will get many people annoyed (me included). Such titles and ranks and nobility are considered old and obsolete in most of the world and for good reason. If he wants to give out ranks, he should make them only influenced by ability.

Ideas for Guard Special names. - Final Smash - Ground Shaker - Justice Strike - Berserker Blow Also, Zombie Villagers and Pillagers. It would be nice if Guards could do arrests. (Archer guards are in the mod, right? Because you already have melee and splash type villager attacks, you now need ranged attacks because the necromancer can control skeletons and the updates have pillagers)

You should make the necromancer drop something of value to the village when killed such as The Totem of Abundance which when place in an item frame near any place a villager works will make them x2 faster for instance when placed near some trees that lumberjacks are chopping every tree within 15 blocks of the Totem will be chopped x2 faster or farms within 15 blocks will be farmed x2 faster with miners though it should be all mineshafts within 5 blocks will be mined x2 faster. Wow, the guards look really cool, but I do have some questions. 1. How will they recognize enchanted armor? Will enchanted iron armor take priority over regular diamond armor? 2. Will the guard effectively sacrifice itself to save the village? In a situation where all it’s armor is gone and it’s at low health, will it keep fighting or retreat to make sure it doesn’t die? 3. Will guards ever be capable of using advanced tactics at higher levels (I.e. potions of healing, splash potions, jumping to get critical hits, strafing, dodging, etc.) 4. Will guards ever be able to use shields, or axes instead of swords? 5. How will guards deal with raids on the village in 1.14? Will they fight as a player would or ignore it altogether? I suggest the above if not true, as well as these others At extremely high level as a guard, as well as the player being in the late game as well, guards could be able to effectively use elytra to patrol faster and attack then quickly get away. Guards could be able to tag-team with iron golems as allies or horses as mounts to involve special attacks (iron golem could throw the guard at the enemies, horses could be used for mounted combat) Guards should definitely be able to utilize bows for ranged combat. It feels like they’re pretty much incapable of dealing with skeletons at the moment. Finally, if a guard is at low health, it could get a sort of adrenaline rush to attack harder and/or faster to prevent death. I’m also envisioning different classes of guards as well, but that would be much more complex than seemingly necessary right now.

Perhaps another building, a Training Dojo, where the guard can slowly train at and get better at skills like dodging and critical hitting, as well as strafing. The guards would use these tactics more often and with a greater success rate the more they train at the dojo. Training at the dojo also takes them away from actual guard duties, so its a trade-off - do you want better guards but miss them for a couple of nights or have guards 24/7 always?

Personal Opinion: Hired Mercenary. It would be cool if you could pay special nomads to help defend your village or follow you around on your adventures for a day. I feel like it could add a bit of personality to each nomad... but I know it would take a lot of assets... It could help in the beginning boost happiness and if you’re too broke. (Also Archers but everyone else said that)

Could you make a menu listing off how many of which type of villager you had in the village? How many vacant beds are left? Stuff like that would be handy Also could you make it so a guard could be stationed in a still position (instead of roaming around) and another mode where you can make a guard follow you (like bodyguard)?

Imagine this situation. You have a fairly large village with many villagers. On one of your adventures you see a lvl 5 necromancer, with a huge army heading towards your village. You recruit as many guards as you can, as well as pushing your miners to find iron to make mecha golems. At last the final confrontation between your army and the necromancer 's army.The battle is chaotic, and you died many times but you manage to save most of your village. Hope you guys like my thoughts.

If a guard can pick up a bow/crossbow, we could make (or more like, force) them take up a position inside some guard towers by putting the outpost markers in the correct slots; and while that kinda protects them from zombies, it'd also let them attack with the ranged weaponry.

Amazing work so far! Only thing I'm noting is that pretty much every interaction the villagers have with one another (apart from children) is job related in some way. What about letting them develop friendships with one another of some kind? Maybe since you're already having several of them share a sleeping space, they could have a chance of liking or disliking a roommate as they spend time with them, and that could be affected by some factors ( if they both have the same profession or if one always gets the best food first). And they could get a happiness boost from being close to a friend during the day, or if they dislike one they could get less happy if they are forced to share a space. Some types of villagers like the cook or the guard could be naturally good at making friends since they benefit the villagers directly a lot.

Can we have a fisher so we can get valuable items and fish. Edit: the fisher he/she will go to the fishing area and will have an animation to collect fish and valuable items. Any items he/she collects he'll/she'll deliver it to the community storage. So the chef can cook and the other villagers can use the valuable items the fisher collects.

A couple suggestions to make use of gold armor and weapons: Have it so when you have enough guards to stock all the guard posts and to stagger their sleep schedules, you can start having day time guard shifts. Day shift guards will prefer gold armor over leather, iron and diamond, and will change out to iron and diamond if back to night shift. Gold armor and weapons are ceremonial. Villagers can salute (and get saluted by) daytime guards in ceremonial armor. This provides the slight morale/happiness boost but tarnishes the gold armor. Mostly for fun and to show off the village is rich enough to support ceremonial guards. This still leaves the gold pick, gold axe, and gold shovel as worthless though... Hmm...

I was thinking having golems as late game to help fight off stronger necromancers. You would need a guard, blacksmith, and cleric/ druid. Guard to request the golem, blacksmith to craft the body, cleric/ druid to animate. Would also need a farmer harvesting pumpkins.

Can you add evolutions? Like bards turning either to Party bards, singing in the taver makes their songs better than normally, ir batle bards, that boost the guards stats by singing at night. They would still do their normal activities. Battle bards would only come out at night if there are 7+ monsters or a necromancer. More villagers would later get branches as well

Tango just a suggestion for a villager I think you should add a villager called the Janitor and what he/she does is cleans up messes around the town and the cleanliness of the town changes the villagers happiness. For example: in the tavern a villager spills a drink that’s where the Janitor comes to play. If you could add this it would make me very happy :)

I have an idea that could make finding stuff in the storage room much easier: 1) Have the ability to create multiple storage rooms. 2) Have the ability to control which professions put the items that they produce in that storage room. Not each individual chest, the whole building. This would only be for putting items in, not taking them out - any villager could take any item out of any storage building. There are a few ways I imagine you could implement this: A) right-click on the storage room label (the one in the item frame above the door) and have a GUI pop up to let you select which professions to allow; B) use a profession token on the storage room label, and maybe have it show next to the storage room symbol; C) drop a profession token on top of one of the chests in the storage room.

My Ideas Sos if these were already taken Fisherman- he will wake up early with a crew and go put fishing for the day, he will pack plenty of food and fishing equipment and bring back the loot every day. Archer- this is technically a guard but he can also use a bow as well as his sword. They will patrol in towers. If the enemy is a long way away from him, he will use his bow until they get close. You will have to decide who goes where weather some go to the towers as a lookout or some guards patrol somewhere else. Explorer- will wake up super early and will travel the world for a couple of days and will then come back with some loot such as animals( wolves or cats he will sell) or tools, different foods (watermelon coca beans, beetroot etc. These are only suggestions BTW I can't wait for your mod realese 🙌🙌🙌

I was thinking he could to stem jobs, like after a guard reaches level 15 or 20 they can be upgraded to use a bow. The can use a sword but always have second priority to the guard. Also their special attack could push enemies away if they are too close and shoot three arrows

You could: Make Archers Make Fishers and a villager that can turn the captured zombie villagers (they're captured by the guard) into nitwits pets for villagers (that give them more happiness) toys for kids or kids can take items from storage and play with them (and I want more kiddies!) and.....do a rancher for next episode! You should make a way to sell unwanted tokens for most (not all) of your emeralds back. But only if you haven’t used the token (placed it in item frame on working building with the met requirements). Also selling tokens

Tango, perhaps you could make finding nomads you would like to use a bit easier? When right-clicking on them, perhaps there could be a "tag-button". This could make the nomad follow you, stay close to you, give him some sort of tag above his head to easily make him visible, or perhaps give the villager a glow effect?

This is a really small thing, but... could you occasionally check on your villagers on-camera so we can see how their profession's skills are progressing? I love the idea of seeing them slowly get better and better as the series goes on, but you tend to focus mainly on new content in your videos. Could also give you an excuse to go over some of the skill thresholds for villagers being able to do certain actions more quickly, etc. Although if you went over everything for every profession, it'd probably be the length of an entire episode... I know you mentioned something about starting a wiki at some point so that this kind of technical information is available to us. Anyway, that's not the point, I just wanna see how far they've come since the beginning! xD

Hey Tango love the vids! Don't know if your interested but I have a few ideas for the mod. Sorry to anyone reading this for the wall of text. Got a little carried away! XD To give the guards more to do during the day it might be interesting to add internal threats like a thieves guild stealing from the community storage or from villagers themselves. As they go up in skill they get harder to spot and can avoid/fight the guards better. Maybe nitwits in your town who go without a job long enough become one. Perhaps they use a house or if you have more than one community storage there is a chance they can use that as a hideout and storage for themselves. The player could track it down themselves or wait for the guards to sort it out. Another internal threat could be attached to higher, or lower, educated villagers in the form of hidden witches who use magic to make life harder for villagers. On a more positive side perhaps a salesman which can sell your goods automatically but at far less profit than you doing it yourself. If you want nomads to eat perhaps they could spawn with a random amount of emeralds and buy food from the town. Perhaps a merchant stall you could build that gives the merchant a set place where the merchant will go for a bit when he shows up so he's easier to find in busy, crowed, and/or large villages. Also I would love to see archer guards who perhaps wear leather armor to support the normal guards. Also would love to see something that has to do with dogs or cats. Maybe pets add happiness to villagers and the dogs could help defend the town or a new kind of guard who trains/keeps dogs to help track down the formerly mentioned thieves. Last thing that may be cool but I have no idea how to implement it would be a village council (maybe another villager in the town hall) that could inform the player of average happiness, hunger, or other stats in the village. Maybe the villagers "choose" a representative of each job (just random or the most skilled/educated member of that job) to meet once a in game week or so at the town hall so it doesn't seem so empty. Hope you like these ideas tango if you in fact read this. I will likely post this again on your next video on this subject in case it gets buried under all the other comments! Edit: Sorry but I had a few other ideas come to me. I'll try to ignore ideas others have posted but there my be some overlap as I haven't read all comments. I'd love to see horses added somehow. It be cool to have some kind of upgraded guard like a general or captain who adds a combat boost to guards around him. For the player doing his own thing out and about it would be interesting to see a wandering warrior villager who you could hire for emeralds who would follow you around and help in combat. Perhaps with enough emeralds you could hire them to join your village. They could also randomly show up in your village after it gets a tavern for a little RNR and to spend some emeralds. Same goes for the nomads themselves. As another option to gain more villagers maybe you can hire villagers from other villages and lead them home. Someone else had an idea for a training ground for guards and while I like it I would also like to see guards sparring to gain skill during the day if you have excess guards. Also would love to see guards wander inside the village and check on/chat with other villagers. Lastly I think it would be interesting but not sure how hard it would be to implement but perhaps buildings could also house a few chests for for example the kitchen could have one chest in it so the chef doesn't always have to walk to the nearest community storage if he's serving people in the tavern. Also again not sure how hard it would be to implement but "families" could stick together in the same house and kids could gain skills in their parents jobs. And finally assigned beds so that you could create a farm house near a farm that the famer who lives there works on.

the question wether or not villiage markers work in the nether or end is pretty valid. I mean it'd be nice to have a little villiage in those places too.

The beds would explode, maybe if the village has a nether portal, they can travel back when they get tired.

Zombies mostly drop trash loot. So I don't think it would be worth adding this in.

You could add a fisher. the fisher would go to a new building(called the "Dock" or something) and fish for fish and stuff. The lower the level of the fisher would mean the less likelihood of having a successful catch. There could also be an "Explorer", he/she would go on a boat or a horse and bring maps, enough food for the expedition, and possibly a bed. There could be a "Map room" for the maps that the explorer made.I also like the idea of the guard dog for the guard. Keep up the good work Tango!

Tango, perhaps see if you can give the guards shields for skeleton protection, if its possible it'll help them survive that much longer. You could also give them a shield bash or charge attack that'll affect mobs in front of the guard that'll stun and knockback. Useful for necro raids.

I REALLY love this mod, if i can leave a suggestion, it would be cool if the mod overhauled iron golems a bit too; it would be amazing if the blacksmith, was able to create iron golems, iron golems shouldn't change much, maybe they could have interactions with the villagers and the player and be able to patrol like guards do, and maybe they could be upgraded over time by the blacksmith

Is there a Archer villager? If there's not please make it hunter.hunter is a Archer villager and he/she can use tipped arrows.

Shouldnt one have a blacksmith much sooner? Sooner than the Chef? I wondered About that. And make the Blacksmith next! Can't the Merchants and Nomads use fence gates?? Why no Archer Guards and Alchemists? What About the easy to use 1.15 Features? Barrels are just like Chests!
