God I love this channel! It's got everything....tanks, trucks, diggers, great banter, a sprinkling of sexual innuendo and the occasional no shits given to jobs that just need doing. I really don't think I've seen a harder working bunch of people on KZbin.....or anywhere for that matter. I could watch all day long. It sure beats the spoon fed bullshit that the BBC and other media channels slingshot at us! Keep it up guys and girls...it's brilliant!

I've actually stopped watching the mainstream brainwashing propaganda hate and fear spreading agendas being pushed by tv. Won't catch me getting conned into going to war for the so called future of are kids in Britain like my grandad did. Only to be blamed for global warming then to feed the war mongers pockets while are kids have ther future wrote for them. 👍

The phrase comes from 'cowboy builders ', meaning farmhands trying to construct anything more complicated than a shed, or fly by night chancers riding into town and shooting up the sheriff, i.e. doing a terrible job of fixing your house and disappearing as soon as they get paid. It's a throwback to the Hollywood westerns shown in British cinema and not meant to be disrespectful to Americans or real cowboys, but has spread from building to mean any amateurish bodge job.

My son is very technical and wants to be an engineer when he is older ( he is 11) he is a veteran of the Reme museum at lyneham we visit a lot (where I was based) and his enthusiasm for military vehicles is beyond scope. Keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻

Top tip ladies and gents, wash them down as soon as you're finished having your weekend fun. The bit we hated the most after an exercise was the wash down, but it saved a hell of a lot of problems and maintenance. It's also easier to get the mud off when it's fresh. Things are coming along nicely though. Those old school diesel's you just can't beat them simplicity at its best.
@RupertBear41211 ай бұрын
I dont know if they can be bought surplus or not but a half tank bridge off of a bridge layer would be massively useful for you to have in your yard to act as a ramp for washing down and even as a loading ramp for trucks etc - we had one on our tank park for gun/sight alignment

I’m 55 years old and I’ve been a class A diesel mechanic since 1986. I love watching your channel cause I’ve always been fascinated with tanks. I feel that I could work tanks like I’ve been doing it forever. Because of you. I love watching your videos because of the way you explain shit, sometimes in a very, very funny way. But the thing I like the most is you got your mates there with you. Mine have unfortunately passed away and those days you’re living now are 30 years in my past. Enjoy these times, be smart, don’t screw up and most importantly don’t drink and drive. Please keep making the fantastic videos. Cheers ! P.S. your nasal whining impression of an old British guy that knows everything sounds incredibly like Jeremy Clarkson‘s same impression.

Love the videos. On the subject of lead pipes if you're in a hard water area there's not such a problem because the calcium in the water is constantly forming and breaking down lead calcite which stops the lead getting into the water, in soft water areas the water is slightly acidic which dissolves small amounts of lead into the water which your body then absorbs.

The way we used to mount road wheels is you would be facing away from the tank as you lift it up, more or less aligned, and your buddy would then guide it onto the studs. That recovery vehicle hanger queen just doesn't want to go.... I was totally sure, the tree was gonna get hit. Nice recovery.
@Bob-kb5pv11 ай бұрын
We used to do similar but the chap holding the wheel didn't lift. Two chaps, one either side of the wheel used shovels as a leaver against the tracks to take the weight.
@depleteduraniumcowboy351611 ай бұрын
@@Bob-kb5pv oh, now that you mention it, I remember that sometimes we would have a third with a tanker's bar to leaver up the wheel. The challenge was that we were supporting officer training, so each of us was individually responsible for several tanks so we didn't have a crew.

Nothing better than waking up on Saturday to find a fun game of Tank Jenga being played......... Joking aside watching you guys getting a tank up onto blocks and then back down makes me wonder if it might be possible to build a tank lift using a bank of massive lorry air suspension units so that you could drive over the top chock it up with sleepers and then pump the tank straight up in the air. It would need a decent number of long travel air suspension units but there must be something out there that would give you the range of lift that you need. And these units are already designed to carry massive loads so weight wise i'm thinking it would be possible. I only suggest this as I know you guys haven't enough to do and have tons of spare time ;-).....

Lead pipes are eventually coated by the calcium in the water they carry, thereby protecting the water from being directly exposed to the lead.
@user-re6yo7tj5sАй бұрын
Our village is ancient but most of the old clay and lead piping has been removed now due to its age, I remember pulling some of the lead piping from my house about thirty years ago, we live in a very hard water area and below sea level too, the internal diameter of some of the pipes had been halved by deposits. I must add that the neatness and quality of some of the soldered joins in the original lead piping were testament to the skill of the fitters.
