You have absolutely nailed it with respect to Arjen - he is the most humble and shy person you could meet, and just enjoys making his music. Thankfully, for us, he is very prolific and utterly brilliant. Great video as always Tank - would love to see some of the older Star One / Ayreon stuff featured too.

Interesting you said Arjen is humble, while I definitely thought that as well until I saw an interview with him and the interviewer asked him something about being humble, and Arjen responded something like "No I am not humble, I know my limits. I think I am a great composer, but not a great guitar player." Something like that. Figured I'd give you a little bit of info. Can't remember which interview and I probably watched it a year ago at least.

Dude, thank you so much for covering this! I had no idea this existed until I saw your notification! I love Brittany’s vocals, of course, but I’ve also been a fan of Symphony X for a long time (I particularly like their Paradise Lost album), so I was excited to see Michael Romeo’s name in this as well! This is quite the fantastic collaboration! Brittany somehow outdoes her previous work AGAIN! I really liked those end-of-phrase high notes throughout; I mean, that’s not something we hear much of in Unleash the Archers, so it was thrilling to hear those high notes here! Michael’s guitar work is as great as ever, and it’s neat to hear his prog metal fitting right in with Arjen’s prog metal! 😁 Great work on this, Tank, and thank you!

Can't wait for this album, too. I actually got introduced to Arjen's music after watching Floor with her band After Forever as an opening act for Nightwish. Instantly bought their CD decipher. And was looking, if Floor had done other stuff. And found "Star one" "Live on earth". Still get goosebumps when listening to some songs from that album. It was like a snowball that kept on rolling, how many musicians that led me to. 20yrs later, that snowball still keeps arollin'. This song in particular has such a catchy tune. I'd rate it dancable. I hope it'll make it's way into german radio stations, this time. (To be played here, you need to pay fees and have it registered by the german GEMA. An organisation that really sucks. But I've asked Arjen: ALL of his songs are registred, there. No excuse for radio stations to not play it. And I WILL penetrate 'em to play it!) So, to all fellow german followers of your channel: pls join me. Greetings from the far north of Germany!

Just FYI, each Star One album focuses on a specific theme and each song is based on a scifi movie or TV show within that theme. The first Star One album, "Space Metal", was based on space-themed scifi, with songs based on Star Trek, Dune, Blake's 7, and Stargate, among others. The 2nd album, "Victims Of The Modern Age" is based on dystopian themes, with songs based on Children Of Men, The Matrix, and Planet Of The Apes, among others. The 3rd, Revel In Time, has a time-travel theme, with some song examples based variously on Donnie Darko, The Terminator, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, and Groundhog Day.; I'm very curious as to what the theme for this upcoming, 4th album will be. These albums are among my very favorites, with a progressive/power-metal style that combines tropes influenced by classic metal like Deep Purple, but with modern sonic sensibilities in terms of tones and production, all delivered with prog-rock virtuosity. Glad you discovered it and seem to enjoy it as much as I do.

The deep voice of Roy, the heavy guitars, the epic 2-minute solo by Steve Vai, and the choir with the voices of Irene and Marcela at the end, just so epic. One More Thing to put on my December "Things To Order" list. ... tis the season to break the bank lol. (just put a serious crack in it w/a used D-5 LTD for the brother-in-law) So these clips so far show some serious promise for the album... I do wish the vocalists would get more than one song each, but the line outside Arjen's studio must wrap the block 4 or 5 times. Arjen's projects have been such good exposure for individuals and their bands.. I would have never heard of Marcela Bovi/Mayan without the connection via Arjen's music. Same with Damon and all those great Danish/dutch vocalists... there's just so many. RE Steve Vai.. I wonder who knocked on whose door first? There's no way to neatly tie up a reaction like this (nor a comment) becaus we're all still waiting to see who else is on it and how they are paired into the material. This is gonna be fun.

The only time I've played a Sonor kit was at a jazz festival (20 years ago?), and I hated it because you couldn't use a drum key to do anything, they required some other tool to adjust. And of course the last person to have adjusted them had all of the quick-releases at RIDICULOUS heights, the cymbals were nineteen feet tall and the snare was the same height as the hi-hats. Maybe they don't do that anymore, but I haven't looked at them since then, because I was so frustrated with that kit.

Can we just appreciate that it's in reference to terminator back when it was good considering it's the whole premise of the song

I can't remember if you did Eye of Ra or Valley of the Queens from Ayren Universe, but if you have, you've heard Star One. Unfortunately, Live on Earth (video), the ultimate Star One release is pulling about the same as some of those vintage synths these days, and there are average uploads to YT.. but still.. Sir Russell made that, and with two Jansens singing from a tiny Stargate, you can't go wrong.

Heard about this project from the UTA site. Getting a strong 80s metal prog rock vibe from this. Have you reacted to Lacuna Coil? I'd recommend Layers of Time from the Black Anima album if you have not. 🤘

I just looked through all your videos and watched about 30 videos, great stuff! May I recommend Dark Tranquility? Especially the songs Miserys Crown, Atoma, Therein and Insanitys Crescendo.

Hi Tank, suggestion on the next reaction -> NOCTURNA - New Evil. It is the new Gothic/Symphonic/Power metal band from Italy. New Evil is their first song ever and it is really good. Their first album will arrive January 14, 2022. Sound like a Powerwolf or Nightwish.

For me, "Fate of Man" is the best Terminator soundtrack that should be in a movie.
