Dude! I love this guy. Love his honesty. Finally a drummer who says what most of us are thinking. “Fake it till you make it” …”I can’t play that and blamed it on the gear”… I got into a fill I couldn’t get out of “…. “We have fun, I’m not that much of a psychopath” As a Lifetime member of Drumeo… once again proud to be a part of the drumming and Drumeo community!

Exactly, I was thinking exactly that. Such a nice dude.

Tanner is a really sweet guy. What you see here, that's the real Tanner. All that good weather in San Diego, it makes people really easy going. If you read the original statements/interviews where In Flame recuited Tanner, you'll see, his attitude and personality played a crucial role. They had toured with Tanner as a tech, and knew how he acted on tour and under pressure. Its a an interesting life lesson- personality and attitude can get you a lot further than talent (although talent obviously doesn't hurt 😂). All of us know someone who is super gifted, but can't get their attitude figured out, and it holds them back.

This guy’s a killer player. But what I love the most and find so refreshing is his transparency and honesty. Finally, someone who is willing to talk about the shortcuts and practicalities and “tricks” behind so much of metal and rock playing! Fantastic stuff.

So you love his honesty but he lied to his future bandmates when he auditioned??? That doesn't really add up right? Don't get me wrong, he is a great drummer but that I found sketchy

@suspicionofdeceitThe Halo Project is closer to the "old In Flames". I personally don't mind they got more polished, although I did lose interest after A Sense of Purpose. Hearing this live show makes me optimistic about the future of the band. It has some of that raw energy again.

This was an awesome video and Tanner is far too humble. In Flames' latest LP is a whopper of an album and his drumming is perfect for the songs. Also love how he's super honest about making certain songs easier to make sure he doesn't gas himself out, it's what we all do really.

I've been a huge fan of Tanner Wyne since 2010 during his days with Chiodos. His work in the album Illuminaudio has a ton of amazing techniques & patterns that are super incredible to play. that was a great video. Seeing these guys live in 2019 when I had the VIP meet and greet experience in Portland, Maine was one of the best concerts of my life so far. Did not see them this year because of the venue not having great sound in the opening bands just not being, my kind of metal so didn’t want to ruin the great experience. I had back in the day. Hope that In Flames comes back to Portland Maine and plays aura again or the cross insurance Arena teamed up with another awesome metal band like Soilwork or something similar.

Love the fact he mentions that he will adapt his fills to 'if he is feeling "it" at that moment'. I approach it the same way, sometimes the kit just feels off a little bit (due to festival kits, or quick changeovers) that I rather play it safe than try to get that crazy fill and get stuck behind that cymbal that is mounted just not in the right position.

I love the honesty and all that... BUT.. I think he is under rating himself. One of the most awesome drummers in melo death. Saw them for the... well, frankly, I dont know how many times I have seen them, but last week in Gothenburg and he nailed it. Again. As always.
