When i was 14 and 15 a man named Bob whom was in his 40s probably, started hanging around a friend of mine. Giving her money , beer , weed and whatever else and i stopped hanging with them because i found it creepy and plain seedy. My gut instincts kicked in fast.

She was captive for 10 years but her captor was only sentence to 15 years?! Should have been life. Disgusting. And her parents are disgusting for blaming her in part.

I feel sorry for Tanya, I just watched the movie but I just don't understand why in the world did she stay in that house, she could of left when he went to work, I wish I would have had that choice to lock and unlock my abuser door when I was 15😢😢😭 I wasn't so lucky I actually had to figure out how to get out of that house when he was at work because there were boards on the windows. It took me a month and four days but I got away😢

She was groomed to believe she was unlovable which was a lie so she didn't know any better.

Sadly people need to be watching they boys when the female teachers are paying attention to them. We are hearing so many female teachers starting relationships with these young boys that is just as important. So it doens't matter if we have a daughter or son watch whoever is in their life and circle around them. Watch for signs things aren't right. If they are spending the night with someone do you know who will be in the house. Does you child know they can call you and you will be there right away for them. These days I would be doing a full security check on anyone that my kids is staying with. You can never be too careful.

I don't believe any child should be allowed to sleep overnight at anyone's home. People are messed up and we don't know how or how much. Keep your children close. I agree.

@@BrittanyCope That is a good point. If you have relatives that have issues I would stay away because why risk you kids. Watch how they all act around your children. I think another thing to think about is if they invite people over when you child is there you don;t know those people. I had a friend that would not let their girls spend the night with anyone that older brothers. At first I thought that was odd, but these days it makes since. Because older brother can mean his older friends also coming over. You have to do what you have to do these days to protect your children.

Kach's nightmare ended when she confided in a neighborhood deli owner and was able to escape. She was 24 years old at the time. For the first four years of her decade-long captivity, Kach wasn't allowed to leave Hose's second-story bedroom, where she was kept locked inside and sexually abused daily.

Not sure why they call this a kidnapping when she voluntarily ran away to his house...

At fourteen, she was not legally allowed to "volunteer" to go with him. It is considered kidnapping which he well knew and kept her hidden.
