I had mine for a year and LOVED it. When gas prices were high, I commuted 70 miles 1 way to work and averaged 80 M.P.G. with the larger countershaft sprocket. Getting the title was a bit of a hassle in Texas, because the Tax office looks up the Make of the bike, and It's basically a Honda clone, and even older Honda parts interchange. For Tons of fun, a VERY low price, and trail riding, you Can't go wrong. I am looking at the fuel injected model, but carb type like this, is so easy to jet for higher altitudes.

Any option to upgrade the forks? My son bent them first day, got replacements from Tao but want something beefier! Thank you
@xmoto73774 жыл бұрын
Really good question Tony! Off the top of my head I sadly do not know of any bolt on replacements. However I am aware that the new hawk DLX and bashan brozz 250 have beefier upside down forks much like modern dirt bikes. But since their diameter is larger I can imagine you would need the triple clamps as well. I'll do some more digging around for ya and if I find anything I'll get back to you!

What about stiffer springs for the fork and or spacers?
@xmoto73773 жыл бұрын
Stiffer springs I do not know of, but the best thing to do is replace the 10 weight fork oil with 15 weight oil, and use PVC pipe to create bigger spacers in the forks and that will stiffen it up pretty good!

why does everyone say to use T4 15w-40 Rotella or Mobile 1? Will both work and which works better?
@xmoto73774 жыл бұрын
Everyone says to use rotella because is a good cheap oil that is wet clutch rated, also rotella is usually a little thicker so it's safer for engines that runs hotter. Mobile 1 is also a good oil to use, it really comes down to personal preference, you just don't want to run too thick, or too thin of oil!

X do you have any links for your 42 tooth rear sprocket and the exhaust? Did the exhaust give you any hassles bolting on? - the aftermarkets can be rough sometimes.
@xmoto73774 жыл бұрын
yea let me dig through my old emails and get you a link, and the exhaust will give you some hassles, you can either bend it slightly, or do what i did and add an extra piece of pipe right before the muffler, to get it to line up with the stock mounting location.
Asking around and doing a bit more research and looks like 44 tooth rear may be a better option to not lose too much torque. Getting mixed reports on 42 tooth rear.
@xmoto73774 жыл бұрын
@@totalnoobfishing1753 all depends but yes a 44 would be better for torque, i got the 42 since i will be doing alot of cruising at 50 mph and i like having a lower RPM. plus i am doing alot of power mods so it should pick back up after all my mods.

Hey I have a video I just recorded where I raced a DRZ 400 and a grom 125, your comment is perfect timing 😂, I won't make ya wait for the results, I blew the grom out of the water just as bad as the drz beat me. Stock groms are slower than stock hawks/tbr7s. However you can swap a zs190 motor in a grom clone and do like 85 mph for 1/4 the price of a grom. But if you want a full size starter bike I highly recommend the TBR7

Some advice on the turn signal, there is no need to cut the wires on the relay. You can stuff foam or even ductape the opening of the relay to muffle the beeping noise to the point where you can barely hear it BUT you and only you can barely hear it meaning, its just slight enough to keep you in check so you don't leave it on while riding (which we all have done )
