The "Purge Valve" as you call it at ~8:10~ is for emissions control testing. unless your state requires that, you might as well cut it off and weld over it, or do something fun amd weld a nut on with a thread pattern for a spark plug, have that hooked to a push button, then push the button to light up the excess unburned fuel and shoot a flame out the tailpipe

I still have an old Japanese bike that I purchased back in 1985 and some of the stickers on it are in Jingrish (Japanese English). It is hilarious indeed! The technology on these modern, cheaper Chinese bikes reminds me of mid 70s/early 1980s Japanese bikes. That CG motor is a direct clone of the old 1976 CG125 Honda motor, just upped to a 229cc motor.

Hey the tube that don’t connect is for emission it also helps with engine blow back some type of evaporation dampeners I think it’s called
@Dudeman_bro
@Dudeman_bro 3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps that tube coming off the exhaust is to help pass emissions here in the states?
@3PedalDevils
@3PedalDevils 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I believe that is the purpose of the tube as well, it's just an interesting "solution" to the emissions problem. I'm not exactly sure how the little valve on there works, but I'd imagine it's more of a smoke & mirrors thing than actually reducing overall emissions. I'll tear into it some day and find out how it works!

@@3PedalDevils lol nice. I just bought a drill so I can get my skid plate on, and also my license plate too lol. I got mine Friday, and over the weekend I built it and then I’ve done the following so far : -swapped the carb, with a 115 jet -swapped the ignition coil, boot, plug -deleted the air box, put an air pod on there -changed the oil. Im waiting on a better motorcycle lift to lower my forks and loosen my chain. Im still waiting on my helmet so I can’t even ride it to get inspected lol. I just got my plates and ten day inspection today. I can’t wait to ride it. I’ve only went around the house a couple times. The chain is insanely tight so I’m nervous. That's awesome!! It's amazing how much fun you can have with a street legal bike that only costs ~$1600. I got in about 750 fun miles on mine last season with only minor troubles. The only issues I had were the stock brake clevis pin breaking off, the stock exhaust heat shield welds failing and falling off while creating a hole in the pipe, and the fuel tank cracking. The clevis issue was easily solved with my custom TBR7 clevis upgrade kit, for the exhaust, I just welded the hole closed and wrapped the pipe in heat wrap, then fixed the cracked fuel tank with a little JB weld and been perfect ever since! Can't wait for the weather near me to clear up so I can get some miles on it again.

Hahah yes, it was quite the experience. We didn't make it all the way to the end of the route on the trip because my buddies' Yamaha and Hondas both broke down. The TBR7 had a pretty big issue on night one with a cracked gas tank, but I sealed it with some JB weld and continued on my way for the next 500 miles. It was a blast to ride this thing off road and on some gorgeous trails, but I'll admit it was pretty awful riding on the highway on the way back home. I have tons of video from the trip, but haven't got myself to edit it yet.

Nice video... I was unsure where you stood on your opinion..seemed like you were "sheeting" on the bike for under $2k, but redeemed at the end. This was my first motorcycle ever ( I have 2019 model still running strong) and if you are handy with vehicles, this is a breeze to work on, I have a handful of vids up on my channel. Probably should call out Motocheez and his channel, in my opinion, he is the godfather in this space in terms of KZbin vids. Safe riding!

To be clear, I absolutely love the bike. I've had nothing but a great experience with it! I'm just realistic about what you get for the money. There are parts of it that are straight garbage, but like you said, they're very easy to work on and modify to your liking. Are there any big differences you've noticed between your 2019 and the 2021's? I took my TBR7 on a 500-600 mile ride a few months ago and had an amazing time. It outlasted the Honda CRF and Yamaha XS that we brought along on the trip too. Yes, Motocheez is the name that always pops up when it comes to China bikes. Admittedly, I haven't watched many of his videos, which is why I haven't referenced him, but I'll have to check some out!

Gotcha I just wasn't sure if you saw any differences in the video, but makes sense! That's awesome, it's a perfect bike for that use. @3PedalDevils
@3PedalDevils 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think you'd have an issue going 100 miles without stopping, depending on the riding conditions. I'd get a little nervous maxing my TBR7 out for 100 miles straight, but I was pretty close to it on my ride back from the TWAT. Probably did atleast 75-120 miles straight at around 50-60 mph on mine then. It was definitely warm, but still ran ok. My exhaust heat shield welds failed and I had a hole in my exhaust the rest of the ride home, but other than that, it was a trooper and did over 600 miles in 4 days

@3PedalDevils
@3PedalDevils 3 жыл бұрын
@@projectsilverado1010 Sorry for the delayed response, we were on a trip and I forgot to reply when I got service. It does not explicitly come with a title since you're technically purchasing from the manufacturer. When you get the bike, you have to send the VIN number to the company you purchased the bike from, then they'll send you a "Manufacturers Certificate of Origin" in the mail. Once you get that, you send that along with the DMV title / registration application to the DMV and they'll send you the title and plates. I didn't have any issues getting my title or plates in Wisconsin. Hope that helps.

SOS I received my Tao tao Enduro about 3 weeks ago I paid the extra money to put 90 percent together. Unfortunately the weather was shitty for last 3 weeks. So finally quit raining. I changed the shipping oil and check idle bolt and checked fluids.topped everything off. Here's the point . Can't get it to idle long enough for me to put in gear . I know it's only a matter of time before I figure it out but damn I got 3 kids and a disabled spouse. I've checked emissions they're great got spark, got fuel, got air. Any suggestions. I'm open for advice. Ty I appreciate this video.
@3PedalDevils
@3PedalDevils 2 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry for the delayed response. Are you running the stock carburetor? I know you said that you checked the idle screw, but where do you have it set at? I had to set mine almost all the way in (clockwise) to get it to idle without dying. I usually have to back the screw off a little bit as it warms up so it doesn't idle so high. If you haven't already, try setting that screw bottomed out all the way, then back it off like a 1/4 turn and see what it does. If that doesn't help, I'd maybe check your valve clearance; it's pretty easy to do, just have to remove the valve cover and get some feeler gauges in there. There are a few videos out there on it. Also might want to look into your jetting setup if you're still running the stock jets in the carb. If you're not able to figure it out or already tried those suggestions, I'd say posting in the TaoTao owners group on Facebook would be your best bet. There are tons of other owners in there who may have solved the same issue that you're having. Sorry you're having trouble with your TaoTao!

@3PedalDevils
@3PedalDevils 2 жыл бұрын
I'd say its a good trade, but I don't know anything about that quad you mentioned. TBR7's are worth well over $600 used if they're in good running condition. Nice thing about TBR7s is that they're street legal, so you can ride on the roads to hop between trails and stuff. You get what you pay for, but the TaoTao TBR7 is a really fun bike and you can't even get a 20 year old used dual sport (most times) for the price you can pick up a new TBR7.
