That's what's great about Accelerator you can control how fast it goes off. We always prefill our patches and buy the time we get it done and clean our tools it's ready too go again. Most of the time we only need one mix of base 45 and can get the whole patch ready for a top coat.

I use Base 45 then come back around with top coat. I use rapid set on repair patch n paint jobs. I think salt rehydrates with condensation on rainy days and can lead to tape delaminating

I have a ceiling replacement like this coming up. Do u back block your ceiling joints? If so can I use cornice cement on back blocks or do I need the specific glue?

Also, the Napisan tub suggestion is good 👍 You’re not gonna smash a bag of accelerator in a hurry, so keep it dry!

3:30 What's that tape, is that the fibreglass looking one? But I thought paper tape was strongest?

Fibre fuse is the best. No bubbles, wrinkles and if mud is thin underneath just press more on. I teaspoon of accelerator per whole mix . I put mine in then mix the lot . Have been considering putting accelerator with csr pro 10 for top coat so as to sand it straight after pack up. Not sure if will work

why do you add salt?

helps the mud go off twice as fast and then you can use the rest of the mix for the next coat! just saves time for small patches
