This is the warm up we use to get prepared for our parkour training and workouts. It's a blend of exercises we picked up from our warm ups in soccer, dance, and parkour.
It is very important we take the time to warm up our muscles and joints before we exercise. Especially for parkour training. In parkour we will be taking our body through several ranges of motions and intense exercise.
So in this video we show you the joint rotations and light exercises we perform for our warm up before workouts and parkour training.
Check Out Apex Movement and their gyms- www.apexmovemen...
And others we picked up through our own training and what has helped our students.
By training these exercises consistently, you are going to see a dramatic increase in your functional strength, you will become more coordinated in the movements crucial for parkour, and you will gain more mobility and flexibility.
This will help give you the solid base of fitness for parkour. You will be able to pick up the parkour moves much easier. Learning more advanced parkour skills will click much faster. You will be able to last longer in parkour and reduce a lot of injuries.
As always train safe and see you in the next video!

excuse me a recomendation i study PT (physical therapist) and the rotation movements for elbows and knee arent recommended because that joint doesnt make that movements normally just flexion and extention. im sorry if dont write well im still learning englsh
@Explogene
@Explogene 6 жыл бұрын
Daniel Ballesteros I'm a PT student too(clearly it doesn't mean much), and the knee has a lot of movement in every direction thanks to the laxity of the ligaments (over 10 degrees of each internal/external rotation and medial/lateral deviation). Just watch slalom skiers. Its critical to warm it up as in parkour you never how you will land. Watch a surfer's back leg... the tibia is externally deviated and rotated by 20-30 degrees. As for the elbow, the circles warmup the neural tissues as well as mobilise the joint (some people never do it, but I personally need to warmup my elbow joint)

Don't roll your head back on full circles. Two different joints in the neck rub each other then. Do only forward half circles and seperate straight back and forward motions.

TBs- pls check out Bob Cooley on stretching, the Genius of Flexibility, it is a remarkable breakthrough. Basically, if you contract at the same time as stretching, it clears the rigidification of the fascia. Very important. Also the Wharton stretching method, has some similar ideas.

I realize this is over a year old, but I have seen a couple videos where you mentioned barefoot training and would like to ask, for those of us with fairly sensitive feet (you never do anything barefoot), would performing these warm-ups barefoot on hard surfaces (like a sidewalk) be a good start to getting are feet roughened up and used to the environment?
