Tara, you totally made the right decision 🤩👏👏👏! Too many riders having difficulties with their horses and too much yelling up and down the line 😵💫 a potentially dangerous and distracting situation for everyone. I'm so glad that you and Apollo 🖤 decided to head off on your own

"Well done, Mum, good decision"said Apollo ...thinking ' thank goodness for that'😂. He showed what a wonderful, classy horse he is... behaving so well while all that stopping and chatting was going on. He's really going to enjoy flying back to Rens and the box...☺☺🤗🤗

You did the right thing for you and Apollo. 👍 I never rode with a crowd. I worked a very public job back in the '90's when I had my horse. I met and saw loads of people on a daily basis. I understand the camaraderie with fellow horse enthusiasts can be nice on a trail ride but for me being alone with my beautiful and spunky Arab was the absolute best! I cherished the time with him alone on the trails. Those were the happiest years of my life!

Smartest thing you did was to head home, much to slow for you and poor Apollo. He so much wanted to go faster. Everyone must learn sometime and starting out slow is best for a novice class horse and rider. You and Apollo are in a much higher class. Still a lovely 😊 ride, as long as you stayed away from the kickers. Hope you got back ok 👌. Love you guys Tara & Rens as well as Boss Man Apollo, Handsome Farouk & Lovely Bella too.

Agreed. This wasn't even a novice, as it seems more of a stroll and chat for the gals. Don't see how it did anything for their horses. They could have never left the coral and back acre, or 3, and have accomplished the exact same thing. They were not focused on learning nor having their horses learn.

Well, I REALLY enjoyed that last bit watching the silhouette of beautiful Apollo's very beautiful trot! That was a right decision for you both Tara. Seems like the ride was even slower than intended from what the lady said. Ahh, freedom!! It's lovely countryside, so enjoy your trip back! ❤🐎❤🥰

As disappointing as this ride was, you did the right thing. Hunter pleasure is just that, not as leisure,, which is a different type of ride and would still involve cantering, or even a lope, which is what Apollo was semi doing. A good brisk ride tomorrow on heartbreak hill tomorrow's ride will set things right again. Your outlook was right, this was never a hunt pleasure, and should have been rectified at the start, so a different plan could be had with expectations given. Hunting, pleasure. You have a right to your expectations and feelings. Have fun on tomorrow's ride!

In complete fairness, I do remember the leader saying they were going to mostly walk but there was so much confusion and milling about at the start it was hard to catch or really know what she meant. I think the leader was trying to do the impossible - a hunt run with riders/horses who had never done that many trails. I mean really, you have someone fall off at the walk... Longest 7 mile hunt run I've ever seen. Good decision to go on your way. ❤❤🤪 you and Rens should find that pub though. 🥂🎀
