Beautiful colors on you Tara. I may get them during a sale as they do appear to be a nice formula, but I think $38 is a lot, at least for me. But HG is a luxury and expensive brand and I have to say i absolutely love every HG product that I own.

I received Tide today and I wish I’d gotten Oasis. Tide looks much warmer on me than I expected. I know this is all about the lips, but your eyes look mesmerizing! What palette are you wearing?

I ordered Oasis and waiting impatiently for it to arrive! I have Pillow Talk but I'm not a huge fan because it pulls a bit too warm on me (I'm lighter in skin tone than you). All of the shades look beautiful on you which is no surprise ❤️

I have HG Cypress and Flora. They are slightly darker shades than the ones reviewed. I layer them with lipgloss or Dior color 220 Beige Couture - to lighten them up a bit for day wear. The HG formula is the most amazing lipstick I've ever used!! I ❤ Hourglass.

Thank you for the review, Tara Lynn. Unfortunately in Canada, these lipsticks are $49, which puts them at almost the same price as Chanel Rouge Allure ($52), Guerlain ($42 -$50), Givenchy ($52), (and Dior ($50). Given that, do you think the formula matches these brands (some of my favs)?

I wish that the swatches by HG were true to colour, it's so difficult to choose a shade based on their swatches .... (They're not the only brand guilty of this ~ cough cough PM). It just doesn't make sense, it's as though they present the shade the WANTED them to be rather than the shades they actually are. Bonkers 🤪 Only because I'm on a strict Low Buy (and I have similar shades) I'm not getting any!! I know, I can't quite believe I'm saying this 😱. I grabbed the lotus. I specifically was looking for a lipstick to pair with the light Gucci blush - lotus is brighter on the lip that I expected it to be - I can see me wearing it more come summer than right now. I am so drawn to the Oasis, Alpine, Dahlia, Dove …. So many of them but I have several Tom Ford and several Chantecaille shades that all look similar.

Hi Tara- I think the descriptions of the shades and swatches on line don’t all correlate with how they truly look in person.. I purchased Dove and had to return it because on me, it wasn’t as flattering as what I thought it would be. They all look gorgeous on you- you are so so beautiful. Thank you for featuring these new shades, which all look great on you. The placement of the shade name on the cap rather than at the bottom of the lipstick is rather strange. I guess someone at Hourglass was given the task of designing an « original » lipstick case - and the change was approved prior to « testing » the prototype. Thankfully someone had the wherewithal to add a sticker to the bullet case. Thanks again!

Hi Tara great video as always honey, loved all of the shades you tried, I think they looked a different colour when tested on your arm as opposed to your lips because you carry colour in your lips so that's why they looked a little different in shade, I'm one of these people who don't carry much colour in mine so I think they will look a bit stronger on me but my preference is for the more Berry shades, so I will definitely be picking a few of these lippy's up when I see them in sale.
