Taramps Smart Charger clamped power on test bench

Little clamped power test for this Taramps Smart Charger.
**NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF CURRENT THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING**
The battery bank is very near the voltage setpoint of the Smart Charger which replicates what this unit will be doing in between amplifier test runs. And that is what I purchased this unit for. I have tested this smart charger at over 110 amperes of current already when the battery was at a lower voltage. I am very satisfied with the performance of this Taramps 100A Smart Charger thus far.

Just a thought. To estimate amplifier efficiency, the clamp should be on the wire(s) going into the amplifier. You need to capture that current on both sides of the same piece of equipment to measure effeciency other than charging characteristics of the charger battery combined. The current clamp location, would test if an alternator with about 100 amps to spare could support that specific setup, though.

That is correct. However in this video I was just showing the power going into the battery bank from the Smart charger. I will have it set up to capture amplifier efficiency in the future amp dyno videos. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

@jeremywilliams8558 hell yeah brother. I just dont want people to get incorrect information watching but not paying attention. Sort of figure that YOU probably knew as the wattmeter gets hooked up correct haha. I've learned 70% of what I do thru videos from EMF and Robot Underground and the usual suspects CAF etc. @goliathaudio
