you should add a rail connection to the oil port for freight traffic over in the new development in verde beach and maybe run a transit line with a bypass loop for passenger traffic essentially using one way rail to make the connections to the port from 2 way rail so you can make your loop with the one way rail

To fix the goods issues, you could take a page from Overcharged Egg's book and build a fishing industry, ironically the fish factory creates commercial goods. It's kinda odd to see a department store getting stocked up with fish to resolve goods issues, but it does work!

I was actually thinking that might be the solution after working on the DLC video. The industry is currently pretty small and could be expanded! Everyone likes fish for every meal... right?

11:35 Most older American government buildings were built in a time when there was a revival of classical architecture in the world. The idea is not as "European" as modern sky scrapers are American, it's just that in Europe people didn't demolish old buildings to replace them with modern ones, over here there's a much broader focus on preserving cultural heritage. But the classical style hasn't dies out, though it's less popular these days, however the advantages of building in this style is that it provides a set of proportions that are guaranteed to create a pleasant looking and harmonious structure. It's a tried and true technique that has been refined over centuries, but it limits the ability to innovate. There's a youtube channel called ClassicistORG which has excellent content on the matter. I highly recommend their playlist named "The Foundations of Classical Architecture"

One thing I’d love to see more of is shade! I grew up in Florida and just about every parking lot, sidewalk, and shopping location had trees specifically to provide shade. I know it’s harder in Cities Skylines but the difficulty of putting trees in places that they can provide shade is frustrating in my own saves.

43:07 If you're planning to re-develop some of the land freed up from sinking the railway then maybe you should consider a few small warehouses, or indeed small pockets of industrial zones dotted here and there. Should help get some much needed products into the city centre. 44:43 I would expect to see some sort of industry / unique factories near the cargo hub.

I really liked this episode! I think you need more episodes like this where you go back to a certain neighborhood in the city and decide to redesign it. This is a process that is happening in a lot of big cities in the world these days right now. Seeing examples of how this can be done aesthetically and beautifully and without compromising on the pedestrian, is something that is inspiring! I hope that here in Israel, too, they will begin to think in such a direction in the planning of our cities.

For anyone interested in playing for themselves, humble bundle have the whole series minus this years DLCs for a massive discount :)
@matnovak2 жыл бұрын
C:S bundle is a trap - it's so much cheaper to buy individual big expansions on sale. Bundles include content creator packs and radio stations that are way overpriced for the amount of content they bring to the table. Content packs are nice to have when you already have the expansions and I never listen to the in-game radio (if you do use the radio and you like the DLC music, then be my guest). Also, you get to choose between the expansions that you'd actually want to use. I picked up Industries and Parklife (my first 2 expansions) on Steam sale and I'm super happy that I went with this approach.

good requests work on proximity. you need to scatter your warehouses throughout the city and set them on balanced so they will ship out readily.

The Mass Transit unique buildings are some of my faves, glad to see them worked into VB. 15:35 May I suggest a Commuter Rail Station at the Verde Beach Government Center? I think it could sure use one. fun fact, the coconuts trees in the streets reminded me of a problem we had in my region. As i grew up it was not uncommon to see mango trees in the streets, including in avenues with a lot of usage. As you can guess even though everyone loves mango and people would grab some, those trees were responsible for huge mess, mango falling all over the side walks and the streets, lots of dirtiness to clean up. Developers learned with that, we have no fruit trees on the streets anymore, but as a kid in those times i used to love, and it kinda makes me feel bad we don't have them anymore.

From a game perspective, it certainly makes sense to put the government center streets on a road diet. From a reality perspective, for a city of this size, I'd keep them wide. They're useful for various events that go on, from things like parades and marches and protests that are organized. What would make the most sense just isn't allowed in the vanilla game (or with mods I think) in doing what some European cities are doing and just having tram traffic through it and turning the roads into walking zones for the city center. Totally makes sense within this vanilla game though, but I could imagine quite some interesting events in Verde Beach's government center.

My mind was clear and I finally found a word that describes CPP's playing style well for me (in Verde Beach at least, and despite 'Mulligalore'): *deliberate* Even just placing a bicycle lane, redoing it once or twice, the reasoning behind it ... almost like he does this for a living 😜 On the other hand, I'm pretty sure it also has something to do with the power of editing 😉
