I like Swagerty's, Bob Evans, but my favorite is a local retired farmer who's son's raise the hogs and he still processes the ground sausage. Almost zero fat when cooking and seasoned regular mild and hot. The best I have ever tasted in my 66 yrs.

Jake’s Country Sausage is hands down the best! Made in Kentucky. The spicy is my favorite and they’ve just recently opened their online store for shipping anywhere in the U.S. You have to try it if you’ve never had it.

I recommend Old Folks Country Sausage. It's my favorite but I'm partial to Kentucky products. If you're really desperate, try Tennessee Pride... It'll do.

My two favorite store-bought brands are Swaggerty's and Tennessee Pride. I prefer homemade as I like mine hot enough you can taste the red pepper in it. Must have a little crunch on the outside. Store Brand Hot Sausage to me I can not tell the difference between hot or original. I got no time for mild unless there's some Tabasco Sauce around.

Gunnoes is my favorite...I like them all but hands down it's Gunnoes for me. I'm out of Richmond, VA. You pronounced it the same way I do. Swaggertysand Jimmy Dean are a close 2nd. You didn't have it but Tennessee Pride is a good one also.

Here in AZ. where I live we have Jimmy Deans, Johnsonville, Farmer John and Safeway Signature Sausage. Next time you should try different brands of Bacon 🥓. Jacob will probably like to know which one tastes better.😂 Have a great day Hussey.

Walmart’s Great Value brand frozen sausage patties are identical in taste and size to the ones McDonald’s uses in case anyone is looking for that sort of thing. Great video, Matthew!

My go to is Jimmy Dean Hot with a sprinkle of Chipotle on the patty. Bob Evans isn't too bad, but always add a bit of sage. Nothing from Wally World and most of the rest we don't see out here in Texas. Favorite is from the guy at the local farmer's market.

Purnell's Old Folks Smokehouse sausage is hands down the BEST! It's what Cracker Barrel uses, or they used to use. I haven't been to CB in years but hey, Purnell's will ship it to you and shipping is free!

A lot of these brands aren’t available here in Michigan. My personal go to recently is the Aldi brand in the same 1 lb chub package as these. It’s tasty (not heavy on sage or heat since I’ll add my own spin anyway) and it’s dirt cheap. I think it was 2.35 the last time I got it.

Figures that my 2 favorite breakfast sausage were not tried 😆 For spicy i always liked Williams, and non-spicy i like Purnell's Old Folks because it tastes not as salty as the others and has a little extra black pepper finish. I used to get Jimmy Dean all the time but their flavor seems to have gone to the crapper years ago.

Solid video Hussey but shocked you didn't include Frank Corrriher's Country Sausage, made down in Landis, NC- just one county south of you! I get mine at Aldi in Winston Salem, Peters Creek, but not sure where you can find it in Thomasville/Lexington. Try it out and you MIGHT just find out that it exceeds Neese's- at almost 1/2 the cost. It's the real deal sir. I will have to try out Swaggerty's and Gunnoe's. Keep up the strong work and look forward to your next one....

Good Afternoon from the Great First State of Delaware! Although a small state, the southern (actually the whole state) part of Delaware, which is rural prides itself on scrapple. We do love a good breakfast. This includes sausage. My favorite is Milton Sausage, which is very local (everything in Delaware is local 😅). Kirby & Holloway is next (I’m told one bought out the other so both brands are similar in taste.). Now, back to the scrapple. While living in Durham, NC for three years I tried to find scrapple. I did notice something with a similar look, Liver Pudding, however not the same. Period. I don’t know if you’ve ever had scrapple or care for it but if you have interest in it, while Milton and Kirby & Holloway are delicious, the best is Hughes, Delaware Maid Scrapple. It’s made in Delaware but only shipped to Delaware stores. So, if you’re ever in Delaware you’ve got to try the sausage and scrapple. I enjoyed your video.

Swaggerty sausage for years . Here’s what I do with those little raw sausage patties, I stuff them in a cupcake pan or muffin pan and form a cup whip up some eggs poured in the sausage cup and I take grated cheddar cheese and drop a mound on top and pop them in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes. Cool for a couple minutes in the pan than pop them out on a cooling rack and you got awesome sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast cup cakes .

There's a sausage in central Oklahoma called "blue and gold ". Stop at the pharmacy in Jones Oklahoma and pick up a roll. You will not regret. It has a unique silky texture and Great flavor!

Thanks for doing this. I have struggled to find good sausage that isn't home-made. I never had store bought sausage until I was out of college (besides restaurants). Next time increase the degree of difficulty and do the whole video blindfolded!

On the west coast out of those all we got is jimmy dean and I guess great value.(the walmart is far enough away I never shop there) We have a few other brands though. Currently my go to is a turkey sausage variant, its not as good by a long shot but it still tastes like breakfast sausage and its 1/2 the calories. Sacrifice im willing to make while trying to lose weight.

Gunnoes is what I got in my freezer now because I just this week ran out of my favorite sausage that comes from a farmer up around Gretna VA who raises and kills his own pigs to make whole hog sausage. He kills about three times a year when it gets cold. My second favorite if I can't get that is Bass sausage that comes out of Spring Hope NC. Ya'll should give that a try! Low or zero fat makes terrible tasting sausage. Thanks guys, great video! Was that dog wearing a head cam?

Yeah man, you're right for sure. It was really cold, not frozen though, however when shooting a video, there's things to setup and do previous, plus it was 90 degrees + with a good bit of humidity. It get's loose quick. haha.

What I like the best is Schnucks store made sausage. It's only available in Missouri and Illinois and maybe Western Indiana. I also like Aldi sausage. It tends to be leaner and less salty than some other brands.

Williams Country Sausage for me. The Hot version. One of the few sausages left on the market without added sugar in the recipe. I hate added sugar where you don't expect to find it. Also one of the reasons sausage tends to burn so easily!
