Later that year, he participated in a debate at the prestigious Oxford Union on whether Kanye West is more relevant than William Shakespeare.
Hunte has been the centerpiece of digital campaigns for Lexus, Honda, Brisk, and Simple Mobile and has hosted concerts and panels nationwide.
A graduate of Wofford College, Hunte spent 5 years working in investment banking at Banc Of America/Merrill Lynch and has covered music, politics, and culture for numerous publications.

The only reason myths about the founding of Hip Hop have been so pervasive is because Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, and Grandmaster Flash never corrected the record. They never corrected one interviewer, documentarian or author. So when are we going to hold them accountable over that lack of transparency and truthfulness? We already know Afrika Bambaataa is no good because of what he did to kids. We know KRS-1 is no good because he defended Bambaataa when the child molestation allegations went mainstream in the mid-2010s and even argued that Bambaataa and other founders should be regarded as infallible. KRS-1 even tried to start his own religious cult in the 2000s and Adisa Banjoko (Jason Parker) exposed that whole situation. Look up him telling that story on YT.

The only reason some of these lies become so prominent and canonical is because Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, and Grandmaster Flash did not correct the record. They took it and ran with it. That's the part that needs to be scrutinized. Less so what others wrote about them.

Although Tariq is likely right in this case, i have a hard time trusting his motives. Before this convo about Hip Hop, Tariq been on a campaign dividing Black people from each other. And this was after he made $$ off a doc on the haitian revolution. Anti-Pan African...IONO G.
