“Redeeming Love” and “The Masterpiece” are two of my favorite books. I read “Her Mothers Hope” and “Her Daughters Dream” in my early thirties when I was actually struggling with some female family members. I feel like these books came into my life at the perfect time. It does a great job covering several generations of women and the troubles in their relationships, within the family. I will never forget these two books.

Thanks for sharing. I just came across Redeeming Love movie which drew me to search for Francine Rivers and saw your page. That was the first Christian movie I have seen in a long time that doesn't appear corny. I'm so glad to have discovered Francine Rivers and look forward to reading her other works. Blessings!

I love Francine Rivers!! The order of my reads are (so far): Lineage of Grace (LOVED IT), Sons of Encouragement (very good read), after alot of procrastination (thinking it was a romance novel, but it wasn't) Redeeming Love. Then Mark of the Lion trilogy...ABSOLUTELY LOVED. As soon as you were trying to tell about the books without giving it away, I was tearing up because of all of the emotions in that series. I'm definitely going to read it again being that I marathoned those books within a month...just one more page, and you can't put it down.

I read "Her Mother's Hope" and the sequel. For me, these books made me cry. I cried more than once while reading and the ending is really strong and there are a lot of difficult themes throughout the book. I think you don't have to have a specific mother/daughter relationship to feel deeply about these books. I am a male and I felt it too. And very importantly these books are in part autobiographical.

I loved most of Francine Rivers books, books like redeeming love made such a big impression on me 🙏! Bridge to haven wasn’t my favorite, the relationship felt a bit off to me if I’m completely honest 🙈 In the masterpiece I loved his experience, I’ve heard people describing it that way, so I know it’s real. I also loved the loving atmosphere on the farm. Voice in the wind I found the best I think, I walked around with it, couldn’t put it down 😅

Im so happy you made this video!!!I 👏 It’s been a long time since I read The Atonement Child but I remember crying so hard…all the emotions in that book! I just read Bridge to Haven last month and of course I loved it! I was concerned about the amount of sexual content but then I realized I think Francine Rivers puts the sexual content in her books because she wants her readers to realize it is God who created sex and sex is for marriage and it can be and is a beautiful thing if we apply sex to our lives the way God intended it. I loved watching the characters grow in their relationships with Christ in theMasterpiece. The Mark Of The Lion trilogy will forever and always be my most favorite biblical fiction ever and maybe my most favorite books Francine River has ever written. The Scarlet Thread was my least favorite of all her books. I liked it but didn’t love it. I need to read Leotas Garden it sounds so good. I want to reread Her Mother’s Hope and Her Daughter Dream, I remember really liking them but I can’t remember much. Probably because my kids were small and I rushed myself reading them. I could go on and on with her books but I’ll stop now.🤣 Thank you Oceana do doing this video I REALLY enjoyed it!!

Redeeming love was the first one I read also! Then I read the lady’s mine, and then the masterpiece. I am currently on the mark of lion trilogy, the last book, which definitely focus more on faith then romance which has helped me in my faith greatly! I must say I’m disappointed that the Teo main characters in the first two books aren’t going to be in the last one and it will switch back to a character who was in the first book but not the second.

Great reviews!! I’ve read all of her books except ‘The Masterpiece’ and loved them all. ‘The Last Sin Eater’ is one of my favourites. Make sure to look up what a sin eater is before reading it. It will help you understand what’s going on! (It has to do with superstition) She also has 2 more books you didn’t mention which I loved as well. One Christmas book called ‘The Shoe Box’ and a non-fiction called ‘Earth Psalms.’

Ah thank you for the heads up about The Last Sin Eater! You’re right, I forgot The Shoe Box and I’ve even read it!! Oh well. I decided to leave out Earth Psalms just because it’s non fiction, plus I haven’t read it or heard many thoughts from people on it.

In my opinion bridge to haven is too similar to redeeming love. Not necessarily the plot, but the purpose of the book I didn’t take anything within the theme away that hadn’t already be done in redeeming love (except maybe what’s all behind the Hollywood industry). I have about 100 pages left of the book and the two main love interests only had a couple scenes together in the same place in the beginning, and then are separated the entire 400 pages in the middle of the book-which is fine if there’s a good chunk or previous book building up to that, in this there is not- (and I get maybe the romance isn’t the main kicker I just was struggling to get the purpose of the book). To me the general themes seem unoriginal (the girl goes off, does a bunch of bad stuff, life declines (also somewhat similar to, but not as well done, Julia from mark of the lion)) and then learns God can redeem and forgive her for it and the love interest doesn’t judge her. Just in my opinion, when it came to the heart behind the story, it seemed to lack originality and impact, vs redeeming love which i thought was done really well, and her mark of the lion series which was phenomenal. Abra, though a little different in her own way, just reminded me a little to much of angel.
@OceanaGottaReadEmAll2 жыл бұрын
That’s a really valid point! I also see the similarities and I wonder what motivated the writing of Bridge to Haven for Rivers. Either way, I was still captured by it and enjoyed it a lot.

I've never read Francine Rivers but have wanted to. But... earlier today I saw where someone said they believed Francine Rivers books, specifically Redeeming Love, are soft core porn 😬😳. What in the world are they referring to? Now I a little nervous to read one.
@OceanaGottaReadEmAll3 жыл бұрын
That's a crude way to describe it. Some of her books, especially Redeeming Love, include details of sexual assault. It is not ever meant to be read as "porn". It portrays an accurate and heartbreaking picture of what people have endured in their life. It is definitely disturbing and hard to read. But not because it feels like porn. I would read it cautiously for sure!
