great to see a treasured tractor with such sentimental value returned to Jordan. some of us restorers aren't in it for the money, just today i was speaking to a woman 50km from me, she has a Wolseley 4/44 and mentioned she has trouble getting it into 3rd, i have a parts car and offered to advise her (i may even fix it with her). i didn't know her until yesterday when i saw an advert for seedling trees on facebook marketplace. oh as for the fix, it's a floor shift, so either a bad synchro on 3rd or wear on the selector fork both could be caused from up & down shifting, my bet is the synchro.

Watched a few of your vids on the Roof Palomino, your interview with the chief engineers grandson was quite impressive and shows your passion for these machines. A buddy of mine claims his family started Rupp mini bikes, and another friend says ger family started Blue Fin boats which started in your neck of the woods New Paris Indiana, makers of pretty awesome aluminum fishing boats. Also have a friend who says his dad invented the white line on roads, but since he was an employee of the state road commission he got zero credit

I saw that too. I thought they were doing that on purpose... But then, it seemed like neither of them had really noticed.... If other people missed it, the bottom of the steering wheel was trapped by the vise... the punch was never coming out, with the wheel trapped....
@johnneil51413 жыл бұрын
@@patrickmorrissey2271 I saw that too. I think it was actually loose after the first couple of taps. They just didn't know. Then when the vise was opened it just fell out. This is the first time I've thought Taryl might actually be human, Or a demigod at the least.

Why not knock it out hot? That is how we remove seized bolts. Glowing hot.
@offyouselfsbuddy16833 жыл бұрын
Expansion - contraction, see why he did it now, actually you'd be better off if you could cool those bolts super quick but ya really can't that's why when most ppl work on stuck rusty bolts on vehicles they don't do the quench part... well that and also cause of the mess and the huge reason is changed the structure of the metal too!
@danielleclare29383 жыл бұрын
@@offyouselfsbuddy1683 We would hit them with WD 40 that burned instantly but did the quench you are talking about. Still glowing but way cooler than the surrounding metal so you are correct to quench but not always necessary.
