@@AkaiAzul Is harder to beat him without damage, is not only by his hooks in the first 50 seconds in battle, is also by his Dreamland Express attack (the 3 uppercuts attack), because he will execute that attack in random time so I can't get it. About Mike Tyson, you must see when his uppercuts and hooks are executed by him, but it may get you tired.

@@trollface6553 Once you learn the rhythm of Mr. Sandman, it's really not that hard (in my opinion). Quick-dodge all of his starting attacks and punch him once in return each time. After that phase is over, do some jabs - high punches, he'll dodge every time and counter-attack. Dodge and hit him in the face, wait for a second, and then punch him in the stomach. It'll do MORE damage than punching him twice, you'll know you did it right because it makes a special noise different from normal. When you run out of hearts, wait patiently for him to throw a move, dodge it, punch him, and repeat the process all over again. I personally find it difficult to dodge his left-side punch (left as in, from OUR perspective, Mac's left, our left) because we've never seen it before on any other fighter. When he does his Dreamland Express, you can tell he is going to do it because he'll start blocking all of your punches rather than dodging. When he's about to do it, he'll completely stop moving for a second, which gives you enough time to notice and react to it - even to someone like me who thinks of himself as being slower than average.

Sandman does a Dreamland Express (that's his three quick uppercuts) immediately after knocking down Little Mac if it happens 1:59 or later into the first round. Successfully dodging a DE nets you around a free 20 punches on Sandman, so this is crucial to a round 1 TKO.

Some of them are _TKOs,_ wherein opponents get knocked down three times in the same round, so the ref says "you're done." I'd like to see a run where every opponent gets knocked down and _doesn't_ get back up. But, that might be boring, depending on the game logic. I mean, this wasn't programmed like _Super Punch-Out!!_ where that's easy to do with practice.

There are some fights where a 10-count KO involves going into Round 2 or 3 because it takes more than three knockdowns to satisfy the requirements. Von Kaiser, for example, can take a 10-count KO if you knock him down for the third time with a star punch, but you'll just get a TKO if you knock him down three times in Round 1.

The TAS itself is just an input log for an emulator to play back, kinda like a player piano. The gist of what a TAS is, is "imagine you're making a segmented speedrun, but you can start a new segment literally any time you want, reload any segment at any time, look at at the RAM of the console you're "playing" and make the randomness work for you," and so on.

the dreamland express, or DLX, actually gives you quite a bit to react. still a tricky window for new players, I know I really struggled with it, but it’s not that hard to be consistent. the reason the window looks so short here is because there are actually two opportunities to dodge the DLX, the first of which is obviously faster but requires you to guess when his uppercuts will come out and the second being typically when humans will dodge when reacting to it. I get that this is all confusing so if you’d like me to further elaborate do let me know lol

when you get knocked down by him, he always uses the uppercuts ("dreamland express") immediately after; this is the fastest way to knock him down, so it's best to do this. you'll see the player intentionally take damage early in the fight, and start with half health by holding select (you'll see this in real-time speedruns too!)

Putnam this doesn’t apply all the time, it’s only like that before 2:00. That’s why the TAS is knocked down at 1:59, to give Sandman as much damage as possible before taking him down with the counter.
