I am an insurance agent and that is NOT how it works. If she has liability insurance to include defamation/ slander she may be covered. It is at the claim adjuster's discretion. Her confession may knockout coverage. They do NOT have to return the payments and they will not renew her policy. They do have to inform her of non renewal , so she has time to secure other coverage.

There should be an exclusion for international act in that policy which I would think can be used against her.
