Nah, touching maybe, but I don’t think it really breaks character for the show. They’ve got a strange stage relationship where Greg uses every possible opportunity to demean Alex, but they also bring up romantic tension and mutual caring throughout the show, so it isn’t out of place for Greg to call Alex “my favorite man in the world.”

It’s a bit like Tim Conway on The Carol Burnette Show. They rehearsed the skits exactly once. And recorded the scenes immediately after that. And Tim always added something new. Which often caused the others to have to suppress laughter. Vicki Lawrence started to do the same thing as a Defense mechanism when she played the grumpy old Momma. Again, the others were shocked and struggling. As a viewer, you also were shocked, and could enjoy the cast’s struggles.

If the camera were lined up properly, Sam's hand would move to the left and the stage-line would appear straight. So he's probably actually "in". Usually Alex doesn't make those sorts of mistakes, but his Alex character seems to be slowly turning evil, so maybe it's on purpose.

Two big things about this episode so SPOILER WARNING: The fact we almost saw a Perfect Episode from Sue Perkins hurts, she was literally one disqualification away since she had 2 almost full decks in that clown. I think the person who claimed there was a secret task about last place actually being first place at the ends of the series and Lucy Beaumont having found said task and been failing everything might be true.

omg... I earned my Atomic Energy merit badge in the early 1990s, since there was a nuclear power plant nearby. We *camped* like 2 miles from it. The only people I know that have ever heard of that badge was the group I was with, and now Sue Perkins XD
