I would tend to try rather than buy, so I'm right with you on this one, Gert. Cheers.

I like Balvenie, the 12 year double wood was one of my first single malt whiskys, it´s also the first one I offer to friends who are new to whisky, but this one is out of my price range...I think I´m trying the Caribbean Cask next. Thanks for the helpful review.

seems too me that a lot of whisky is now getting out of reach for me as well.

Received this as a gift last year, really good stuff, but even pricier in the US. Great review & love the t-shirt! Cheers

You've posted several videos from travel retail/duty free shops in various countries, but I can't remember: have you come across the 47.6% ABV version of the PortWood anywhere? Just wonder what the price would have been for that and if it might present a better value proposition for you... (I got a bottle from an auction website, but that was back in 2018.)

Cannot remember seeing one at 47. Only on their website. I see they are selling them at 43% abv in the US. Cheers Andrew.

According to the German sites it is not coloured. I was exited to get one of these for our club a few years back and was disappointed with it. It around $400AUD here now which is insane! 40% for a 21yr and that kind of money is just an insult. So many much better port finished drams for a lot much less money. Cheers 🥃

Indeed a lot of money. I see the 47% one on their website but there is no price. The nose promises more that the taste in my opinion. Cheers Ken. Nice to get some feedback from you.

I bought a bottle in the US today and its 40% abv. You should try the Balvenie 16 french Oak.

I've never seen the 21 yr old Balvenie at any other ABV other than 40%. The 30 yr old Balvenie is bottled at 47.3%. I agree pricing on this is crazy, the cheapest price here in South Africa is R3750 a bottle. Cheaper than your 200 Euros, but not by much.

The prices in SA is generally cheaper than in Europe.

@@WhiskyLoversSociety On most whiskies, yes. S.A seems to be on par with the U.S when it comes to whisky prices and market offerings. S.A and the U.S are the only 2 markets globally that still have 750ml bottles, the rest of the world is 700ml.

In my area these used to be $160 USD to $180 in 2019. These have been going up ever since and are now $299 to $323 USD. I have one bottle in the bunker and that’s it. I’m not buying anymore. Balvenie has a very odd pricing model now and I’m done with them.
@WhiskyLoversSociety Жыл бұрын
Wow. That’s crazy expensive. No way that I will pay that.

I like the Balvinie 21 year old. I got a sample of my brother and I wont buy it. Too much money and there is so much whiskey out there that is cheaper and better. Cheers from sweden.
