I don't think tattoos are an issue at all, obviously unless they are a problematic, un-Christian design. It's just a body decoration. Long hair should not be problematic, either, for either sex. Neither of these things affects your soul or relationship to God. Paul repeatedly said that what we eat doesn't matter... So, neither should either of these things that are even less intimate than food, since they are external. Christians need to not look down on people who make these fashion choices, that's what's actually harmful.

These are not things that have to do with our salvation. I personally don't think we should mark our bodies with tattoos -- we should be distinct and separate from a worldly culture. Tatoos tend to be very worldly. Think about why one gets a tattoo? But again it's not a salvation issue. I believe long hair is a woman's kind of crowning glory and is representative of her womanly beauty. However, if a woman has short hair, which has been a style in our culture since the early twentieth centruy, I feel it's acceptable IF that woman maintains her femininity. And vice versa for a man. I actually think long hair on a man can be quite handsome as long he maintains his masculinity. (And hair that is well taken care of as well!😆😂) Again not salvation issues for us. But let us be reasonable together and faithful to the scriptures as much as possible. Great topic.
@Nico-narrowpath3 ай бұрын
Forgive me but this is very square. If it's not a salvation issue then why cast a shadow over tattooed Christians with your personal view/thoughts. Being set apart and distinct from culture is about who we live for not what we look like. Its an alright topic but its gets boring and seems to go round and round with people without tattoos thinking they represent our gracious King better or more rightouesly. I get funny looks from some Christians for my biblical sleeve, as if I've done something wrong or I shouldn't of tattooed my body if I really loved and understood God and His word.. honestly the judgement is so loud from some square Christians without them saying a word. Some of us werent brought up in faith and were plucked from the darkest corners of this world into His grace and mercy so when I decided to be bold and tattoo my whole arm with biblical art and scripture thats just how I showed my, gratefulness, devotion and decision to follow Him to a world that hates Him. Even Christians and converts that do have ungodly tattoos, I encourage our family in christ to show the same grace that Christ shows us. Chur

Jenn, hi! I'm Cathy. I just had to come and leave you a message. I just saw you on one of my favorite shows, with Ken Mikle. I am so happy to hear your testimony. I was getting into Kundalini yoga and the LORD rescued me when I was in the midst of trying to open myself up with big crystals all around me at one of my personal sessions. I didn’t realize what was happening at the time, but it was crazy, and when think back about all of it, it only makes sense that God literally intervened and saved me right then - I truly did not know what I was getting into! Then a couple years later, when I also was 37, Jesus saved me and became my Lord and Redeemer while I was in a rebab bathtub right about to "clear my mind" again like I had been doing before - thinking that the literal sun in the sky was god. Instantly as I started to go into that meditation, I suddenly KNEW that the Son of God, Jesus, was Who I actually needed, and I cried out for Him to help me to live right and He proved right then that He's the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that He's actually been watching over me and trying to help me my whole life! Oh! My breath is gone right now just typing this out! I am in true AWE of God; Jesus is so amazing! I found it so interesting that you were saved at the same age I was! It's only been 7 years since I accepted the Truth though - I know you said it's been 11 for you.... Well, I truly appreciate what you're doing and your compassionate heart, dear Sister in Christ. Just wanted to reach out and say hello. ☺️ 👋 ✝️ 🧡 Psalm 51:17 ESV The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

I appreciate your videos. My only feedback regarding tattoos is that they are something that I would regard as an extravagance. I always feel if we have enough resources to afford things such as tattoos, maybe it could be better serving the kingdom by feeding or helping another in an effort to spread the gospel? That’s just my perspective on it.

Anyone have any opinions about people like John Cooper of Skillet who has a lot of tattoos (they all do) and some of them are kind of… interesting. They also do the heavy makeup and stuff. He’s gone on record saying he doesn’t feel any conviction from the Holy Spirit that it’s a problem but I also know of a lot of Christians who call them wolves in sheep’s clothing etc and not true believers and warn people from listening to them. I’ve listened to a lot of his videos and he seems like a Bible believing Christian but I’ve always had the impression that the tattoos and heavy makeup while performing where confusing at best that this is a Christian band and possibly problematic especially to those looking on from the outside or to weaker brothers whom it might lead down a bad road.

It depends on your personal relationship with Jesus. The Holy Spirit has most definitely prompted me to not get a tattoo. Nor am I to drink any alcohol. That doesn't mean it's a sin for someone else to have a tattoo or drink casually. Obviously, drunkenness and not being of sober mind is a sin. Remember that no one person, as much as you respect them, is an authority on your relationship with Jesus. Not all Christians agree, and that doesn't make some 'right' and some 'wrong'. Be careful not to use 'context' too broadly as an excuse. It can be a slippery slope.
