Taurus GX4: Best Micro 9 On A Budget?

If you think you're too good for a Taurus, get over yourself. For years I wouldn't even look at a Taurus. NO freakin' WAY was I ever gonna buy one... Then, when I was shopping around for a sub-compact a couple months ago, I caught all this buzz about the G3C and got intrigued enough to buy one from my local range. It only cost $235, so I thought: "what the heck?" I liked the way it felt, I liked the way it looked, and if I hated it, I could always turn it around for about what I paid for it. Man, I wish I'd gotten one sooner! It feels good in my hand, it shoots well, has less recoil than I expected, and I've run all kinds of ammo through it with zero malfunctions. Now I'm seriously thinking about getting a GX4. I've gone 180° from hater to fanboy.

Taurus makes a true believer out of all of us. Thanks for sharing. Definitely look at the GX4 and GX4 Carry (video coming soon). The GX4 is a staple of my carry rotation.

Another home run video guys! I can't shoot the Gx4, but it is a good shooting pistol. My monkey hands release the mag under recoil. It's a single shot pistol for me..lol. But a good gun none the less. I have the G3C and shoot it extremely well.

I’ve been carrying my GX4 on and off for 2 years and love it. I liked it so much that I bought the GX4 Carry and really really like it. Recoil is less than my G19

I have 1500+ rounds through my personal GX4. Actually, 1500+ issue free rounds is what I should say. I have totally stopped looking at other sub compacts as there isn't any reason why I would want to move on from the GX4. The feel in hand is like the pistol was designed specifically for me. It has been absolutely reliable with zero issues of any kind. It shoots super flat for its size and is more accurate than I am capable of shooting. The only mods I have done are the Taurus/Ameriglo tritium front sight and Lakeline pinky extension baseplates for the flush fit mags. The GX4 has been a joy for me. I hope I never have to use it in a defensive scenario, but I have 100% confidence in its performance if I do. Curiously, there is a new GX2 coming in Jan '25. It looks like the GX will be finally replacing the G2c.

@fullyloadedreviews , that's awesome. I am really looking forward to the GX2, although I see the initial release will be with a manual safety. Which is not a deal breaker for me, but I would prefer it without.

I think so. I am guessing the Toro will come way later. I am guessing they are trying to compete for that budget level and keep cost down.

It's so easy to see that this platform was built to compete with the P365... having watched many videos, it's easy to see it shoots flatter than the Hellcats, P365's, or Shield +'s... I'd even put it flatter than those comp'd variants (except maybe the CR920XP). I've loved the G3C (my 1st 9mm). I've decided to move away from a different brand I'd bought into (another outstanding "budget" shooter), and money is not really an option this time. Will replace my micro and full-size with something. I keep coming back to the GX4 as one of those potentials. Love the modularity of the P365, have also enjoyed the XD Mod 3 I snagged so the HC Pro Comp is on the list (and Echelon). Looking into GX4 support. It seems like aside from a holster, tritium, and optic it really has everything I'd need out of the box. Great review, thanks!

Hey guys, I just found your channel and wanted to say, I am enjoying your content and have subscribed to your channel. Having said that, I do want to call you out on your aftermarket score on the GX4. The GX4 takes Glock aftermarket sights so look a bit broader for aftermarket parts and look at the Glock parts too. I occasionally carry a GX4 and love it. To me, it's the #3 micro-compact. Only the Hellcat and the SIG P-365 beat it.

Stop telling people that the GX4 is good. The fewer people who look into it, the more the price remains low. I have 2 GX4 , and now a GX4XL. STOP TELLING EVERYONE!

Well seeing that Taurus has MAP pricing and the keep their production costs low I don’t for see that happening. Also in a competitive market they need to be lower in cost than others so they can sell more.
