Honestly? Yes. Lol. I don't recommend LIVING there, personally, but a timeshare to spend a weekend or even a couple of weeks there per year if you have the money? 100%. Crab Island alone makes it worth it, and the local seafood is incredible & what I miss the most about home. I guess growing up there spoiled me because I won't eat seafood in Texas. It's just..... nasty comparatively. 😅

I read somewhere that TS likes to watch Dateline, and on the show everyone that wants/ or has created a crime goes to Florida! As far as the weed and baby line goes I think it’s in reference to her age and her friends. They are all either having kids or still in that “party era” of their lives. I believe that with all the other songs on TTPD and the references to marriage and cradles. TS is ready to settle down. In the part about weed or little babies, she means that of her friends, some have already settled down and others have not yet but that she is at a standstill, she wants to disappear, start over, escape either from her mistakes or a bad love and Taylor decided that Florida!!! It's the best place to do it because she loves crime stories, and when criminals have to disappear for some reason most of them have gone to Florida!!! Obviously it's storytelling, I love this song because I'm in a similar situation, not that of the criminal but the other one.

matty could also be florida. he used to be a drug addict (or still is, idk) and in fortnight, she mentioned taking the “miracle move-on-drug”but the effects were temporary. this line could be about her rebound with matty. also, she has a thing of calling someone as the place. for example, in false god (track 13 in Lover), she calls herself “i’m new york city” and she calls the guy “you’re the west village”. even in so long, london, its like she’s saying so long to joe bcs hes from london. just a theory though. its kind of interesting just to think about referring someone as the place/country :D taylor uses a lot of metaphors in her songs and thats one of the things i love most about her. shes so good at creating metaphors that are very relatable.

To be fair.. You're both kind of right. It is a getaway, but not in a great way. Lmao. However, I've now seen so many people using this song to show off their vacations in Florida. Also you guys are getting the next total solar eclipse to hit the US's contiguous states (thats the states that are connected.) I've been to Florida and I'm considering going for the eclipse... if I'm alive. Lol The hurricane thing did mildly bother me though. Because Hurricane Florence hit where I am really hard in the Carolinas, not Florida. I was literally stranded on an island bc of the flooding and for a week i couldnt get to work, we had 1 grocery store that was running out by the end of week, and maybe 2 questionable mom and pop diners. It was rough. But i suppose it wouldnt have hit right if she mentioned the Carolinas or picked a different hurricane that actually hit Florida. Either way, the season is here so ya'll be safe down there! (And dont send us your leftovers thanks. Lol)

Do not move to the panhandle of Florida. Panama City specifically, 45 minutes from Destin unless you want to be in miserable heat with very high humidity! In other states where it is hotter they have dry heat. It is completely different with humidity. I have two dehumidifiers in my apartment. I have not opened the windows in my apartment for years. It is way too hot. I don't know about Southern Florida. I don't think it is unbearable heat and humidity, still bad though. The Gulf side of the panhandle has the whites sand you will ever see. It is exactly like sugar. Growing up I assumed all beaches were like that. I moved to Connecticut, South Carolina and even Pensacola, Fl and the beaches aren't nearly the same. The heat and humidity is so miserable I keep telling my friends and family I am about to buy a thong 2 piece and wear that everywhere. 😂

There were two weeks in between the two shows. Many speculate that she “needed” to get on stage, needed the engagement of the crowed, so that she could get up as her life was crumbling into pieces, BECAUSE the crowd was shouting MORE, she had the energy to keep going, with a broken heart.
