The music video is about “saving” her album. The song is about dating someone you work with, which is based on when she dated Taylor Lautner when they were starring in a movie together. And yes, they are on good terms. She’s always maintained that he did nothing wrong, she broke up with him but he was a wonderful boyfriend.

Great reaction, and you’re really close! The masters of Taylor’s first six albums were sold out from under her, so she decided to re-record (aka remaster) them all, and so far as done four of them. The remasters are all called “Taylor’s Versions”. With each remaster, she has also released a certain selection of tracks “From the Vault” - i.e. tracks that were originally written for that album upon its first release, but didn’t make the final cut. This is one of those songs, and it’s from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), which was released in 2023 (thirteen years after the release of the original Speak Now). Thirteen is Taylor’s lucky number, hence why it is on her hand, and her arm shows some of the lyrics from another song from the album, which is how she performed every night of her Speak Now World Tour 2011-2012. The painting Taylor takes with her in the music video is the cover for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version); she’s reclaiming her songs from the prison they were in (i.e. that she didn’t own, but now does with the re-recordings) and also showcasing tracks literally “from the Vault”. And yes, that is Taylor Launter who is one of Taylor’s ex-boyfriends; they have remained good friends and she reached out to him to ask if he wanted to be in the video. The other two actors are Presley Cash (in the van) and Joey King - both originally starred in Taylor’s 2011 music video for Mean, one of the singles from Speak Now. The video for I Can See You (From the Vault) was filmed in Liverpool, UK. There are loads of other references and Easter eggs in this video - the costumes in the glass displays are all from the original Speak Now era, for instance! - but this should be enough to cover the main points. I’m sure other Swifties will pitch in with info as well. 😊

The whole concept is getting back her "Speak Now" (the stolen version )from the vault to the Taylor's version. So they entering the speak now era and you can find her old outfits that she wore at this era, She used to date taylor lunter at that tim also she used to write 13 on her hand cause it's her lucky number. she had a song on the album called mean in the mv for "mean" she had joey and the girls in the "I can see you" video they were young. This mv is so nastolgic and creative

I think this song is about Taylor Lautner when they first started dating. They were in a movie together. Joey King and Presley Cash were in the music video "Mean" so the fact that she got them back for her rerelease is so poetic. The dress Joey is looking at is the one she wore in the music video and she is sad because its going to get blown up.

13 is Taylor's lucky number and also her birthday is 12/13. The 13 shows up a lot. if you ever watch her Grammy performance of Mean it's on her guitar.

Also Taylor has said that the three main characters are representative of the fans because they have been so supportive of her in re-recording her music & buying/listening to it so much that the Taylor's Versions of the albums are charting higher than the original albums did, so it's a way for her to Thank us (just one of many!)

One of my favorite music videos of hers dedicated to her fans. There are many visual references to her original Speak Now album/era like the lyrics written on her arm, the outfits on display, even who she casted in the video. She did not re-released her old albums, she re-recorded them. Huge difference. The songs "from the vault" are songs that didn't made it to the original versions of the albums. You can imagine, she must have a ton of them in her pocket.

I don’t think you’ve reacted to Back to December yet, but that song was about Taylor Lautner. It was basically Swift’s apology to Lautner for the way she ended their relationship. She has called Lautner her best ex, because he was a good guy they just didn’t work in a relationship.

So, Taylor is Speak Now Taylor in this video and during that time, she always performed with a 13 on her hand (it’s her lucky number)…. And I’m sure u will see others comment that Taylor was who she was dating around the time she was writing this album, I believe (the original album). Also, Joey King and Presley (the girl in the van) were both originally in her Mean music video all those years ago (which is a song on Speak Now)

Okay I see that a lot of people have already answered your questions but I wanted to add a fun fact too! So as everyone has said "Taylor's Version" is in reference to the re-recordings of her albums that were taken from her. "From the Vault" is in reference to songs that were written for the og album but didn't make the cut. This video in particular though stars Joey King and Presley Cash the two girls in Taylors music video Mean from the original Speak Now Era, and of course as you said Taylor Lautner was dating Taylor at this time. But the fun fact I wanted to give is that in the fight scene, when Taylor is fighting the henchmen, that is in reference to when Taylor Lautner hosted SNL and showed a choreographed routine of what he should've done when Kanye West interrupted Taylors acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs. I guess they both thought it was funny and a clever call back, and he should get to do it in the music video since he didn't "save" her like he wished he had back then, he gets to save her in the video instead. OH, and 13 is Taylors lucky number and back in the day she would always write 13 on the back of her hand! So that was just a call back to when she'd regularly do that!
