Her disappearance was so hard. But her and this fandom are so strong. We have such a good relationship with Taylor and the song was so good live. Honestly personally never liked Kanye especially after he interrupted her waaaay back. Fun fact the snake has a name and is Karyn also there’s a rumor that the second verse is about Scott (BMR CEO) owning her masters 🤷🏻♀️ (the Swiftie nerd jumped out of me 😂)
@edensylvester135 жыл бұрын
She trusted Scott back then it's definitely not about him. You could say songs from her first album seem like they're about Scott (Cold As You, etc), it's all a coincidence
@inswifterlandedits97415 жыл бұрын
Eden Gallagher I said it’s a rumor I didn’t said it as a fact but we really don’t know what went down with Taylor and Scott she said she kept asking for her masters and the conversation for the new contract started around that time too but again it’s just a theory
@ismailabdhakim37045 жыл бұрын
Eden Gallagher it could be for scott because that issue has been going for awhile even before the public knows it. Taylor had been pleading to scott

@sharonpayet30875 жыл бұрын
This track was so warranted. Kanye initiated the whole drama starting from the 2009 VMAs. Taylor was kind enough to forgive him but got stabbed in the back with the whole Famous phone call. Good on her for releasing this song and coming back hard and strong! She deserved this success after wrongfully being shunned by the world. Kim & Kanye twisted the whole situation. Never did Kanye ever tell Taylor about the Famous line or the whole details and if he did then we would have seen that in Kim's snapchat video (but we didn't). Great videos! Can you please review Getaway Car!

The most important part of this performance was the snake; reclaiming a symbol of global hatred and ridicule as a symbol of your power and capitalizing off of that was her triumph.

I love that fact that you talk about the videos and songs you reacting to in depth either about the visuals or lyrics. That’s way more entertaining to watch then someone sitting for 5 minutes not saying anything and then be like ok the video or song was great bye. Like that’s not the point of a reaction channel lol. Same thing with movie and tv show reactions and commentaries if people wanted someone to sit there and not comment on anything they can watch everything by themselves.
@StevenInStereo5 жыл бұрын
I appreciate this. But you’d be surprised at how many comments I get where people want me to just watch the video. Like....I can’t do that. No creativity in that at all. And that would be boring to me.

I totally agree with the whole “tilted stage” was a direct diss to Kanye, but I didn’t take it as just the fact that he used an actual tilted stage on his tour. I think there’s a double meaning to it, and the other reading I’ve made about it was the fact that Kanye “tilted the stage” when he edited that video and uploaded only the snippets that would fit his narrative where he was making her play the role of the liar.
@vanessa10525 жыл бұрын
Lucia Sanz you know, I was thinking that maybe was to scooter, because Kanye is his client so maybe the tilted stage was scooter’s idea. And all the rest of the song fits perfectly to scooter

I understand so much why you say there's something so special and unique about the Rep era, because there is! Never in a million years I expected to see Taylor this "dark" or angry like she was on this era. She came back from so much hate and people against her and I will always remember how she fought back against bullies that claimed that they "made her famous" or that they "ended her". She literally created an album from all the hate and negativity and made a memorable era that will be so hard to forget. I still feel like I'm not over this era yet and now we have to be all pink and happy with the Lover era lol.

7:09 rise Karyn, rise 🐍 when you have someone who stoops as low as hiring a model that looks like Taylor to appear naked in a bed next to him and his wife in a music video - which is basically revenge porn... that’s unforgivable. This tour was liberation. She talks about it later on in the concert about how she was actually scared that no one is gonna show up for RepTour. And then you have a completely sold out stadium tour that’s the highest grossing tour from a US artist, and loyal fans decked out in costumes every night. Long Live TS.

Great reaction! In terms of what I thought about the drama at the time...prepare for an essay. I felt that the lyrics Kanye used were degrading and sexist whether she had approved them or not, just like all of his lyrics about women. So I already thought he was a wanker for believing that a young woman owes him sex because he "made her famous" by acting like an idiot on stage several years ago (although I think it was the other way around? If anything, she made him famous...I hadn't heard of Kanye until he did that...I didn't become a fan of Taylor until 2012, but I had at least heard of her, and I think at that point she had sold more albums than he ever had). I mean, the lyrics were clearly meant to diminish her. The original lyrics were actually gonna be about Amber Rose (his ex who he constantly degrades and calls a dirty stripper), using the words "might owe me sex" rather than "might still have sex". They were never designed to be complimentary (cut to Taylor on the call saying "I mean, it's kind of like a compliment..." Which is the most forced thing I have ever heard her say, lol). Also, when I heard the snippet of the call, something about it didn't feel right. Taylor sounded like she was trying too hard to be on good terms with him, to 'manage' him in a way (because he can be erratic), and kept reminding him of her success and achievements on the call...which reminded me of when she said previously in an interview that she couldn't make up with him previously because he didn't respect her as an artist, and only felt capable of making amends when he recognised her talents and achievements. So...just because a young woman feels pressured on a phone call (to a much older man she has only recently made amends with and who has a history of erratic behaviour) to go along with lyrics of a song she hasn't even heard...does not mean that the lyrics are totally fine and that Kanye is a totally great guy. I mean, during the call he kept going on about how the lyrics would be such a good thing for their friendship. Very manipulative. Not to mention the fact that you don't secretly record calls behind your friend's back unless you expect that they will be uncomfortable with the final version of the song you release, and you plan on using the recording to force them into a corner lest they be painted as a liar. I was unsurprised by how the world reacted, though; everyone already hated Taylor Swift for being vaguely "annoying" and "irritating" because she "uses her relationships with poor, defenceless men in order to write songs" and "is a crazy ex-girlfriend who can't hold onto a man" and who loves "playing the victim" because she dared to write one song about how Kanye West stole her award in front of the entire world (and women who actually react to and have something to say about shit that happens to them are such immature whiners, or something). The call recording was just an excuse to "cancel" her, as most people had been salivating over her cancellation for years anyway. I understood why she would have heard the final version of the song, felt completely fooled and insulted, and decided to say that she had cautioned him against it. Because when you feel like someone has tried to attack you, you attack back. It's just that she didn't know he had recorded her approving some of the lyrics (ergo her lyrics "I brought a knife to a gun fight"; her "knife" was the white lie that she had cautioned him against the lyrics, and the "gun" was the recording he had to ensure she couldn't object). When I heard her song "I did something bad", the lyrics "when a man talks shit, then I owe him nothing" reminded me of that situation, as well. Kanye talked shit in a way she didn't expect or approve of, so she felt she owed him nothing and decided to say she told him not to release a song with such a misogynistic message. I would have done the same thing.
@StevenInStereo5 жыл бұрын
This was actually really well said and totally explains her side of the situation in a much stronger way. Thank you for this.
@micpena35835 жыл бұрын
This was such a good summary of everything that happened! I also find it appalling that people were so willing to cancel her over "lying", when there are literally musicians who are rapists, sexual abusers and domestic abusers out there that don't get as much hate as Taylor does. She is the least problematic celebrity, and the problematic things people claim she's done are a reach (she's learned so much since her white feminism days in 2015, but people still use that to cancel her).
