Fun fact: after the lyric " I think you were singing to me now", Marjorie was actually singing.

My favourite line is “should’ve kept every grocery store receipt because every scrap of you would be taken from me”, which shows how much her grandmother meant to her because she wish she kept every little thing no matter how insignificant it seemed; even something as little as a grocery store receipt. Something that we usually think as so insignificant. I love this song so much cause it reminds me of my grandmother too :(

Been waiting for this. What a keeper. Taylor said she was so emotional writing this that she would nearly breakdown. She used the example that she remembers her grandmother, an opera singer, had a closet full of beautiful formal dresses and she looks back and she wishes she had asked her about each and every one, where she wore it and the story behind each formal dress. As a child it didn’t occur to her, something she regrets. She credits her grandmother, who died right before Taylor signed a contract, for inspiring her and even though she died Taylor has said that she doesn’t think she would have been able to do this career if her grandmother wasn’t still “with her”, guiding her.

Her grandmother had cancer and seems like her grandfather too and Taylor would go to the hospital and play music on her guitar for the people on their hospital floor.

I lost mine april 6th 2020. She was like a literal mother to and for me. I still dont wrap my head around the fact that I wont ever be able to talk to her again or hug her ever again, and its been 2+ years. I miss her everyday, I miss hearing her voice at the other end of the line when she would call every night. I haven’t gotten over it and I don’t think I ever will
