Additionally, their connections to Swift seem completely generated out of thin air. Taylor Lautner, out of nowhere. Eddie Redmayne, out of nowhere. Harry Styles, out of nowhere, Jake Gyllenhal, out of nowhere. Her current relationship with Tom Hiddleston, once again, out of nowhere. At no point has a relationship with her ever seemed to grow organically out of an incidental interaction. They seem almost focus grouped ahead of time. It’s like her agent is running a dating site just for her, and doing a deliberately terrible job of finding a match. Yet each of these two-month dalliances that consist of two-to-three dates ends up being the subject of one of her songs, or at least a rumored subject (the media loves to speculate on those). Most of those songs imply the kind of deep emotional connection and true heartbreak warranted by a long term relationship where she and her partner become inextricable parts of each other’s lives. As someone in a real relationship, this deeply offends me. She has never committed herself to the kind of partnership and bond that warrants such a level of emotionality, at least not in public. In short, she hasn’t “earned it” when it comes to those types of songis.

Jake is notorious for dressing like someone dragged him through a thrift store clothes rack despite having the money to actually dress fashionably. In that sense, it's also a tie-in to '22' because of the lyric "It feels like the perfect night to dress up like hipsters and make fun of our exes." I swear to god, this woman is a genius. 💀

IT'S ABSOLUTE GENIUS. if you didn't know, the concept of a "twin flame" comes from the romantic myth that a soul is split into two halves when you're born and the other half of your soul resides in your soulmate. also, this line has the extra layer that they're both Sagittarius (a fire sign. When in reality, the real reason is clearly due to Katy Perry dating John Mayer, which clearly put her off. Nothing wrong about writing a song about anyone she wants, but having a whole video campaign about pitting woman against Katy, and trying to find every big A-list name she could pull as me vs you, was whack. What doubles down her pettiness? The fact that she backtracks years later and went out of her way to blame “the media” when it was her who was out for revenge regarding Katy. She also posts a picture of Katy’s Olive Branch gift, with the words stating she is sorry. Which came across as really childish. If Katy never had apologised to her, Taylor would be still taking shots at her (purposely dropping her catalogue release on Spotify the day Katy Perry dropped her album.)

When in reality, the real reason is clearly due to Katy Perry dating John Mayer, which clearly put her off. Nothing wrong about writing a song about anyone she wants, but having a whole video campaign about pitting woman against Katy, and trying to find every big A-list name she could pull as me vs you, was whack. What doubles down her pettiness? The fact that she backtracks years later and went out of her way to blame “the media” when it was her who was out for revenge regarding Katy. She also posts a picture of Katy’s Olive Branch gift, with the words stating she is sorry. Which came across as really childish. If Katy never had apologised to her, Taylor would be still taking shots at her (purposely dropping her catalogue release on Spotify the day Katy Perry dropped her album.)

I don't know if you guys addressed this concept or not but I believe the reason Taylor kept repeating " I was there " ( especially in the 10 minute version) is because he made her feel like everything they've been through wasn't in fact what she thought it was. She had the idea that it was love which he refused to admit and so when he broke up with her there was this gaslighting/ manipulation feel that he didn’t see it the way she did which maybe made her doubt all the moments they've experienced that were pure love, so she keeps repeating the concept of I was there I am sure I remember it in an attempt to prove that it in fact happened the way she saw it. I don't know if that makes sense but it's very striking after the short film and the 10 minute version! I love you so much, guyss

At no point has a relationship with her ever seemed to grow organically out of an incidental interaction. They seem almost focus grouped ahead of time. It’s like her agent is running a dating site just for her, and doing a deliberately terrible job of finding a match. Yet each of these two-month dalliances that consist of two-to-three dates ends up being the subject of one of her songs, or at least a rumored subject (the media loves to speculate on those). Most of those songs imply the kind of deep emotional connection and true heartbreak warranted by a long term relationship where she and her partner become inextricable parts of each other’s lives. As someone in a real relationship, this deeply offends me. She has never committed herself to the kind of partnership and bond that warrants such a level of emotionality, at least not in public.
