Taylor's grandmother, Marjorie Finlay was sooooo cool! Talented opera singer, in the Air Force during WWII... she looks so much like Jackie Kennedy in those opening footage scenes. And you can see how much Taylor looks like her. She died just before Taylor hit the big time 😢

Beautiful reactions -- thank you! ❤ Marjorie is Taylor's grandmother, the opera singer Marjorie Finlay (1928-2003), who can be heard on backing vocals towards the end of this track. The lines "Never be so kind, you forget to be clever / Never be so clever, you forget to be kind" and "Never be so polite, you forget your power / Never wield such power, you forget to be polite" come from things that Marjorie actually said to Taylor as she was growing up. Such a beautiful song and completely heartbreaking to hear.

Long Story Short is basically a story of her life when people turned their backs on her in 2016. I always relate it with Kim K and Kanye W. as the villains and how they make Taylors life miserable, then she find someone who makes her happy and how that's all that matters to her now. but she remarks: "And we live in peace, but if someone comes at us, this time I'm Ready". She also said: "your nemeses will defeat themself before you get the chance to swing" Kim and Kanye get divorce. haha! Brilliant!

I doubt she cares about their relationship, them being defeated is more likely referring to how they lied and when the truth finally came out, as it always does, she was vindicated without ever actually doing anything. They did it all to themselves.

The song Marjorie is about her grandmother. If you listen closely as the chorus you can hear her grandmother Marjorie singing the background vocals. Taylor had no idea that Jack (her producer) was going to do that. She didn’t hear it til it was mixed and put on the album.
