Please stop apologizing for liking Taylor, dude she is so versatile and talented. Yeah she doesn't have the highest notes and most crisp voice but ahe has an incredible voice it fits her perfectly. I love when someone who has almost been taught to not like Taylors music starts listening to it and then realizes how great she is. I found through your Taylor reactions so please keep them coming. There is a version 'I knew you were trouble" from this tour that is almost haunting yet super sensual if that makes sense at all lol but i truly think you'd like that. Also her sound Haunted is really good. I like it live but different strokes dor different folks

There are a LOT of suggestions here, but if you want to see more of Taylor’s rock side, her Bad Blood/Should’ve Said No mashup from the Reputation Stadium Tour (only on Netflix until the end of 2023 btw), goes SO FUCKING HARD.
@MoyaoftheMist Жыл бұрын
Love this reaction. I wonder how you’d like her “Haunted” performance from Speak Now. It’s not rock, I don’t think, but it’s got an Evanescence kind of vibe to it with the violins and stuff. And I freaking LOVE the performance. Absolutely amazing. (I think you might also like her 1989 performance of “I Knew You Were Trouble”, but I could be wrong there.) Another world class performance (in my opinion): “Don’t Blame Me” from Reputation. I don’t know from genres but I know I like everything about that. Everybody wants a rock album from Taylor. I’m really hoping we get one someday… She’s friends with Hayley Williams from Paramore, so… Can you even imagine having a Paramore feature on a rock Taylor album… I’m gonna go daydream about that now…

Side note: I want to check out your music on Spotify now that I know about it. Where should I start? Is there a recommended listening order, a playlist with all your songs, etc?

Also… one more question. I’ve been doing music reactions while I’m sick to entertain myself. Would you enjoy if I made a reaction video to your music? I have no followers on my reaction channel except my partner, so you probably wouldn’t get any new listeners from it, but if you enjoy the idea of somebody talking way too much about your songs, let me know, haha. (So far I’ve spent 30-60 minutes per song… I simply do not shut up.)
@annika9196 Жыл бұрын
Even more impressive context: With live performances from the age/ era it's good to keep in mind that she suffered from an ED, she talked about it in her documentary and apparently she thought if she didn't feel like she was about to pass out halfway through the show, she was doing it wrong. And then she still sounded like that? Extreme respect.
@CarolineBrunnquell-fz1rp Жыл бұрын
We're watching a creative genius in Taylor Swift. Think of when she started... look at where she is. All the narrative around her crumbles in the face of her talent. Haters are simply envious of her endless talent and creativity. No better way to strike back than to embrace it and show them what she's made of. As many times as they strike, she will get back up. And there is NOTHING more refreshing than someone with an OPEN mind and heart like yours applauding her amazing scope of potential. (It's new and amazing to me too, and I'm WAYYY older than you!)

In speak now she experiments a lot, and it’s very reminiscent of the pop rock of that era and her voice fits perfectly. You should listen to “Haunted” which is a full on rock song
@baked_alaska11 ай бұрын
Exactly! People seem to think that Speak Now is some kind of sleepy little country album but the undertones of pop punk are strong and it really makes you see why she names artists like Avril Lavigne and Hayley Williams as inspirations to her. "Haunted" and "Better Than Revenge" were definitely eye opening moments on that album. Most people don't ever recognise that Taylor has been using rock chord progressions and motifs in her songs since her first album but when you see how easily she can switch styles like this, you really start to understand her genius.

I LOVE the rock side of . she hasn't done it in years. It shows her versatility. People only see her as a pop artist. This is a very pop 12:12 she turned it into a rock one. So many people hate on her for no reason. They have never listened to her. Maybe heard a song playing in Target or pieces changing radio stations. They never actually listen to her lyrics. She truly is probably the most loved and hated musician. The haters say she only dates people to bash them later in songs. In my opinion a true artist writes about their life whether it be ex"s good and bad, things they see in the world, their childhood, experiences of their friends, fans and haters. You get it. With a few made up songs that have touches of themselves in them. That is a songwriter. Taylor considers herself a songwriter first. She has stationary that has her name at the top then right under that it says "songwriter and cat parent." Not many artists have been as successful at switching genres as Taylor. Her first couple albums were Country, then lighthearted Pop, a darker Pop, folk/pop. Her fans have stuck with her through them all. She calls each album an Era because she changes her music style(a little or alot), changes her hairstyle and completely different clothing style in her personal life during each Era. She said years ago people expect female singers to change or the public gets bored with them verses male singers can stay the same throughout their career. She has never done a Rock/Pop album. Her adult fans would love it! This performance is killer. She changed the way Apple and Spotify pay artists years ago. She wrote an open letter to Apple and Spotify. Apple said we hear you Taylor and changed their policy overnight. Spotify took a couple years to change. She had just put out her best-selling album 1989 at the time but still removed all of her music from Spotify until they changed it. She taught musicians to make sure they don't make the same mistake she did at 15 or 16 by not having your contracts say you can own your masters from the start. She walked away from a development/ songwriting deal at Sony after a year at age 15 because she had enough faith in herself to know she didn't need a development deal. She didn't have another deal in place. She went back to having her Mom drive her to anything Taylor could find that would let her play at. Her Mom stsyed in the car. Taylor had to talk to people on her own. There is a video of Taylor playing for about 10 people at a rubber duck racing contest(those things actually happen in the South.) She played for free alot at bars because they weren't keen on having a no name young artist play. She was a hustler. She had actually been doing that since age 12. I forgot about that Then she finally got to play at the famous Bluebird Cafe. That is where she got her record contract. She was the first artist on Big Machine Records. She left them after her contract was up after the Reputation album. Every label wanted her. She ended up signing with Republic because they met her demands. One of them was they had to split 50/50 all streaming revenue with every artist on their label. This was all years ago. Women especially young Women are treated horrible by record labels. Taylor paved the way for young female Country artists. During the pandemic Taylor made two folkish albums, a departure from the Pop artist they signed who had only done one album for them and didn't tell them until 1 week before there release. She paid for everything herself. That is extremely ballsy. She has always believed in herself and taken risks when most females especially young ones back then, didn't. She has her own production and management company. Actually 11 L.L.C"s. She keeps everything in house with a very small group of people she trusts. Her parents are two of them. People always say her parents had connections in the beginning of her career when they moved to Nashville. They didn't. Her parents believed in her and her Dad worked for Merrill Lynch and was able to transfer. She is just a Badass!

During 1989 era taylor post tour style was hinting towards a Rock album and since 2016 was supposed to be her album release year (she used to release album every 2 year , 1989 came in 2014) , but due to unfortunate turn of events she was cancelled on internet and thereby went into hiding and came back in 2017 with Reputation to take control of her narrative . Fan theories suggest there is a lost album which is yet to be released and would have been a Rock album. It is rumoured TS 11 album will be that lost rock album .

Only 3 minutes in but you inspired me to leave a non-hate comment before you even started Taylor's video. I imagine I will enjoy your reaction... I just laugh at people who say she cannot sing. There is speculation in the fandom that she was working on a rock/grunge/punk album after 1989 (because her aesthetic changed to a punk look) but it allegedly got scrapped when the drama with the rapper that shall not be named and his wife hit the fan and she went into hiding. She later came out with the album reputation. We all want a rock album from her...

Born in 1989 like Taylor, I avoided her music for whatever reason for years, wild how easily we(i*) can be swayed to jump to conclusions. so she made this song basically as pop-py as she could bc the guy this is about thought he was better than her bc she made pop-like music also because she wanted this to become one of those incredibly often and very catchy played radio hits so that the guy would basically hear this song EVERYWHERE. so on this tour she performed this version which isnt as pop because at this point it already was a HUGE hit so she could do with it what she wanted.

If you'd like to hear more of rock Taylor, check out one of her earlier albums called Speak Now. She has a lot of pop rock songs in there. This album is the closet to a rock album we got from her. Taylor is friends with Hayley Williams from Paramore since they were teenagers and they influenced each other a lot. Some of the songs from Speak Now you might like: Haunted, Better Than Revenge, The Story Of Us, Electric Touch ft Fall Out Boy (yeah, they sing with her) and Castle Crumbling featuring Hayley Williams. Also, the melody from the song Innocent sounds, to me, like something Creed would've played back in the day.
