Like Taylor, I am no longer a Christian either. Yet, my entire family is deeply religious. I feel so dishonest when I go to family gatherings, and everybody prays. I stand quietly and respectfully, even though they all know I no longer believe. But maybe they feel I'll regain my faith when they pray. That makes me feel dishonest because praying does nothing for my faith. In fact, I look at my family, wondering what they think when they pray for world peace? That has never happened. Are they stupid? God has never answered these prayers. In fact, world peace seems further away. It seems prayer is a waste of their time.

Taylor's awesome. Conan is right in that limitations in the beginning can be really good for comics so they don't take shortcuts and learn to be smart and funny. Nothing worse when the only thing a comic can do is a cheap laugh based on an F-bomb. Don't get me wrong, nothing bad about a good swear joke, but all too often it's crutch for a weak mind. Taylor's not weak, her humor, clean or not is fabulous (although not her talk show).

Taylor is really funny, seems really genuine, and is also very cute. Hard combination to beat. P.S. I spent a few years performing standup. Loved it, got good responses, and eventually realized I wasn’t willing to do everything it typically takes to be successful at it as a career, so I stopped. I may or may not ever go on a comedy stage again, but if I do, it will strictly be for the fun of entertaining people, with no intention of making a career of it.

Cruise ships have to be the worst gig. We went twice, because there were two sets of comedians. It was on a Carnival cruise, which has to be the worst of the worst gig. There was a core group of people that thought they were the show. And they went every night to show how funny they were. They were absolutely horrible. Only the headliners were able to get anything done with them. Once guy clearly gave up and just prompted them to say their stupid stuff for like 25 minutes then he walked off without a word.

Considering she lived through it and you didn't, she's a more credible source, but even if she's wrong or her experience is the exception, I'm not clear how saying 'there are a lot of middle-aged married guys' is misandry.
