Never tell anyone you’re wearing a wig!! I’ve had recently a guy ask me that in public around a dinner table with other people, he asked me if it’s my hair and I said yes it is! (Obviously it’s mine, I bought it) and I never exchanged another word with him because anyone who has it in their character to do that doesn’t belong in my life for a second more

@@serenth8310hair it's not a body part!! In case you don't know, hair is dead matter, only the root is alive because it hurts when you pull it out, the rest up to the tip is dead!... Look at this, part of the body!!! Disgusting people, do you know that wigs save a lot of people from a deep depression due to lack of hair???!!! This is the greatest miracle made by man!!

It's all in how you look at it. In Jewish culture and for many African American women, a wig is normal daily life. People who want colored hair but don't want to dye their own often choose wigs. Many elderly women wear wigs in order to keep their hair styled without the maintenance. They are so much more present around you than you know. ❤

Wear it, own it. You are so beautiful inside and out. This wig looks amazing on you. I recently started wearing wigs too, not bc of tho hair but bc my coping skill is to dye my hair or cut it and I guess I just went through a lot last year and now my hair is in a very short mullet and it is rainbow. A vibe I love however, I started wearing long haired wigs down to my lower back about two months ago and have since gone in one more wig. It didn’t tell anyone just started wearing them, I was so nervous but ultimately decided that people can ask about it if they want, and that I shouldn’t care what they think bc I’m living my best life not harming anyone. ANYWAY, moral of the story as you look amazing the wig looks natural and I hope this brings you confidence because you are not an imposter by wearing a wig. You were just living your best life. 💕🫶🏼

Thank you, thank you, thank you, and did I say thank you. With your hair pulled back on video. It didn’t look that good but when you showed it hanging down. I thought that’s me. That’s me. The reason I didn’t want a wig is because they’re so full and I’ve never had full hair. So I understand when you say you feel like you’ll be somebody else. My hair is so thin I could see my scalp no matter what position I’m in. I am definitely going to follow you. I’ve been thinking about wearing a topper. What is your opinion on this? I just get so hot that I am afraid that a wig would just make me sweat like crazy. Please help. By the way, I have pretty bad dyslexia. So I don’t even have the excuse of English is my second language. It’s my only language ❤

If someone sees you and says "omg what did you do to your hair" you don't have to go into details (specially if it's not someone close to you) . So many people wear wigs for all various reasons, whether it’s thin hair, hair loss (from alopecia, cancer, etc), or just simply liking the way it looks. It harms absolutely nobody to wear one, and I don’t think it’s right to judge anyone for choosing to wear it. Your wig looks fantastic and so natural on you. Don’t feel like you have to justify wearing it to anyone!

@elliepamm because our scalps get the nutrients it needs from the sun, it's kinda like men who wear baseball hats 24/7, then they start balding at 25 because their whole life they hid their scalps. I'm a cosmetologist and these are the things they don't tell people. Our hairloss and thinning has a major connection to that sun light. The more sun light you get the better everything is from your head to toes to your mental state. That's all I'm saying. Wigs are meant to br.worn 2 days tops then let your scalp breath. Plus the glue is causing balding ripping out the edges etc. Also manyyyyy women have thst allergic reaction to the glue, it's awful. If the wig didn't have such an impact I would my have anything to say. Not enough women know that. The few who do don't try to fix it. As women are hair is everything it's our mane our crown 👑 if you will. So to hide it and suffer from problems is just devastating. I just wish the wigs didn't have thst negative effect. You know what I mean

If you hadn't have mentioned you were wearing a wig, I doubt I would've even noticed…and I typically know a wig when I see one 😊 Hope this helps with your confidence, but just know you're radiant regardless (but as a girly-girl) I totally get it ❤

I agree with everything except the part about the wig protecting your hair. There's no way a wig rubbing on your head/hair can be good for it. I can't help but feel that is a lie you tell yourself. Just leaving your hair alone would be the best protection. Jmo.
@lousdinovembre
@lousdinovembre 9 күн бұрын
@@lorimiller4301 it protects the hair in terms of heat and chemicals . When you wear a wig, you dont have to worry about damaging your hair with flat irons, blow driers or hair dye because you can just wear a wig and the hair stays untouched under the wig. Afro texures are more fragile are more prone to breakage so wigs are essential to avoid doing things to our hair but still enjoy different hairstyles that would normally require a flat iron, gels, or hair dye. A wig shouldn't be an everyday thing, though. That’s when we are suffocating our hair. It's about doing it in moderation and not letting wigs replace our own natural hair.
@daisykay23
@daisykay23 4 күн бұрын
@@lorimiller4301actually, you are supposed to wear a wig cap first, and then there is no rubbing against your own hair. So it is a good option for people that don’t want to heat style, and color their own hair.

Hi there. I’m also a Black woman. Perspective truly is everything in life. I am sorry that your hair has presented challenges to you. I do not see my hair as difficult at all. It is kinky curly, and that’s how I wear it. I get out of bed and the shower makes my hair nice and fluffy. Washing it isn’t hard, and detangling is simple for me with flaxseed gel and conditioner. I am not dismissing your experience, but I am sharing a different perspective just so that anybody reading doesn’t assume that Black hair is a “problem”. People’s lack of hair care knowledge is the bigger issue, and I’ve noticed that is the universal problem with most people that have hair of all races.

Taylor, the wig looks like your natural hair. When I was growing up in the 50s & 60s most women wore wigs. Wigs are a luxurious accessory for a polished look in seconds. No need to tell anybody you're wearing a wig, just enjoy it. And Taylor, should you ever tire of wearing hair accessories just go full blonde pixie cut. This will make your eyes even more incredible. Simply finger comb the short wispy layers to frame your pretty face. 💝

I heard in the 50s and 60s 1 in 3 women owned a wig, it’s funny that it stayed that way in the black culture once the lace front was invented but white chicks and guys with hair loss haven’t caught onto it. As a guy with hair loss I enjoy wearing a wig but I don’t know how women would feel about a guy doing that. Girls are always afraid to tell guys about a wig for some reason, men could not care less so long as the chick looks good and is happy.

I went 15 years trying to be happy in my thin hair. It finally got so BAD, I asked my friend how she wears wigs on the daily. She said something that made me sit up and realize I had been over-thinking it. 1. No one sees the detail you do. Your bestie will notice and support you. The rest are too self-absorbed with their own lives. 2. What you feel and think about you is what is important. Make you happy. 3. Everyone has something going on that makes them uncomfortable or self- conscious at times. So, enjoy your beautiful new hairdo! It’s fabulous. It took me a lot if wearing it to get comfortable. To this day, I use a little hairline glue in front to secure the edge and a wig grip. Your wig really compliments your face. You did well! Keep exploring. Enjoy!

I’ve noticed that women with thinning hair or no hair often have the most strikingly beautiful facial features, as if they were perfectly designed to pull off that unique look. This is the first video I’ve seen on your channel, and as a new subscriber, I have to say-you absolutely rock both looks (with and without the new wig)! Thank you for sharing this exciting journey. For those of us facing similar battles and fears, your video is incredibly helpful and encouraging. The unknown can be such a scary place, but your openness makes it feel much less daunting. ☺️

Stumbled on your channel today. I'm in my late 60's and am going through the same feelings you are describing. I bought a wig but have been afraid to wear it in public because of all the fears you listed here.Thought I would prefer a topper, but when I got one my hair was too thin to hide the ridge where it clips in. I wish I could find a topper that would work, but I have wavy silver hair and when I find a style that works or looks like it might work then it doesn't come in my color. I wish wig companies would remember us silver haired people more. Your bravery has made me start to think I need to try again. You are beautiful by the way. YES to more on your wig adventure.

I hardly ever comment on anything but I have had trichotillomania since my early teenage years and now being in my late twenties my insecurities with my hair density and texture have been really hitting me hard. I'm guessing KZbin recommended me this because of my recent searches into hair growth serums and supplements. I'm in awe. Seeing that first clip of you trying on the wig made my jaw completely drop. It actually made me feel so emotional! It looks amazing and so natural. Spending a lot of money on yourself, especially if it's an insecurity, is so hard. That in itself is a huge step and I'm so pleased that you did! Enjoy it! Thank you for sharing this experience xx

@Ashleyapparently sorry to hear you’re also going through it! It’s comforting knowing there are others that have a similar experience. I’ve heard wigs are a good option for regrowth because they create a barrier to your own hair. My worry is I’d end up fiddling with the wig and ruining it 😅

Hi Taylor, you seem like such a sweet soul, and I just wanted to say you're not alone. I lost about two-thirds of my hair during grad school - stress, COVID, and going off birth control all played a part. I cried so often about my appearance. What helped me regain some confidence was wearing halo extensions, but honestly, embracing that wig life has always inspired me because I'm the biggest Dolly Parton fan and she's always wearing wigs! Dolly is proof that wigs can be fabulous and empowering. Thank you for being so open and the wig looks gorgeous on you!

Hats off to you for not only taking the wig plunge, but for taking us on the journey!! Although my hair loss is different from yours, my daughter talked with me a few years ago about shaving what's left of what had always been extremely thick hair and rock baldness. I never felt comfortable with that, so she started showing me videos of toppers and wigs. I'm nearly sixty, and change has always been hard for me. But then I saw this INSPIRING video of a strong young woman! I feel much more confident in looking for a wig now because of YOU!! Thank you so much for being real with people you don't even know and for sharing your story and emotions, so we can put one foot in front of the other on the way to a wigmaker!!! God bless you, and enjoy being beautiful! (BTW, it is impossible to tell the hairs are not sprouting from your own scalp!)

Dear Taylor, thank you for sharing this special moment. I can understand your emotions regarding this decision that is truly personal. I have followed you for some years and I know that you’ve struggled with your hair. You are a beautiful young woman and you look amazing with or without the wig. I do think that the wig looks incredible and I would never have known it was not your hair. As someone who struggles with hair loss and thinning hair, I have also thought about buying a wig. What has always stopped me is the thought that people would know. But after seeing your wig, I think that it’s possible to wear a wig without it being noticeable. I’m looking forward to see how you style your hair and how you feel once you’re more comfortable with it.

So I haven’t finished watching the whole thing yet, but I have to say thank you for sharing so openly! As women, our identity is formed in so many things- one being our hair! I never got this until I had tons of hair loss post heart surgery in 2016, and post baby years later. (Last year I was on hair vitamins for 6 months until things started regulating with my hair.) It’s devastating to have issues with hair loss and struggle to have it regrow. Now as I get older, I notice a lot of seasonal shedding and it’s also hard. But you aren’t alone in having hair issues!
