Really impressed that you manage to stay so focused on the trail. While you were home, you seemed so joyful and exuberant with all the comforts of being there. It would’ve been so easy to take your focus away from hiking.

Watching you gives me a new respect for the hikers who can't go home or have family visits on trail or get off the trail as often as you do. It really is more mental than physical.

Taylor, There is nothing quite like getting out on a boat on a beautiful lake..it clears the cobwebs and heals the soul! I am sure that along with getting your eye better, some real food, and resting in your own bed out of the rain was just what the doctor ordered! You are ready for the notch and the whites!

A great example of self-care. Like a coach taking a player off the field for a breather - in this case it’s great to see this example of self-awareness to do it yourself. Amazing what a few days of new perspective will do. Nice work.

If you feel nervous sitting alone on the side of the road try going back into the woods a little bit. This will allow you to keep your eye on the parking lot and people driving by won't see you.

So happy to see you back on the AT and in New Hampshire which I know so well. I followed your 2021 and now 2023 hikes. It will be good to see familiar places on your remaining hike. I am a member of the Hundred Highest Club of New England so have done many of your subsequent miles. You needed a break and needed to heal your feet. . Now you are revitalized and have a second wind.

Good for you, that is exactly what I said. Nature is meant to be a way to relax and feel reinvigorated, so that our daily stressful lives don't become overwhelming. If being in nature becomes a chore then it's not doing what's supposed to. Enjoy it and take your time checking the animals, the plants, the forests you come across and so on.

You put a lot of pressure on yourself to beat your previous time.Hence the breakdown. It's not a big deal to not beat your time. The fact that you have the monetary resources and time to hike the AT TWICE regardless of when you finish is envied by many I'm sure.
