This video features two of the "easier" 4,000 footer hikes in New Hampshire. I made this video to help people just getting into the New Hampshire 48 4,000 footer list. These were my first two 4,000 footers back in 2016, and now that I completed the list, I can confirm that they are two great options to start with!

Tecumseh is great for beginners if you enjoy walking up stairs for hours and hours, Im one of the few who found it to be a tough one. Anything with a consistent incline is always rough.

There is a lot of snappy editing on this video, including footage of you hiking away from camera, which I can appreciate is a lot of work, but it looks amazing. Professional vibe! Thanks for doing this, Taylor. #Nahamsha 🇺🇸 ☮️ ✌🏻

This was a great idea for a video. It seems like a lot of the videos of the AT in New Hampshire show these heavy-duty climbs and rock scrambles in the Presidentials. I have hiked Mt. Washington myself (and it was no walk in the park, at least for me). So you can get pretty intimidated by the Whites before you even get there. But your videos show some really nice day hikes that get you right up into the nice views with just the right amount of challenge. It's nice to know that the Whites can be so accessible.

Thanks! I hope people can watch the videos and then want to hike it themselves. Maybe watching me do the hike first makes the mountains look less intimidating. My next video is actually a mt.washington day hike, I’m trying to show a big variety of hikes.

@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker I hiked Mt. Washington with my son when he was 10 years old. Instead of doing the standard Tuckerman Ravine route, I decided to go up Boott Spur, thinking the more gradual climb would be easier on him. Well, it was still pretty steep, and the uphill was constant, so it turned out to be more challenging than I had intended. He pulled through like a champion, though, even after it started raining once we cleared the tree-line. We had packed fleeces, hats and rain gear, so we were OK. It was quite a memorable hike, though. Luckily, my wife met us at the summit, having driven up the white-knuckle road and waited for us to arrive on foot.

Thanks for making this video, Taylor. These are so encouraging. I’m sure it’s a lot of work stopping to film yourself hiking up, then going back to your camera-then hiking up again! It’s been a few years (like, 25 😀) since I attempted a 4K-footer (Washington), but didn’t summit due to weather. I think starting with one of these two would be a wise choice for *completing* my first 4K.

What find of watch do you use? I have a Fit Bit Versa, but I am thinking of switching.

That’s a 26 liter pack from osprey I was using but I just ordered a new daypack from ultimate direction yesterday. The blue strap holds my phone, I linked it in the description if you’re curious!

These are good to know. We are working our 4-year-old up to her first 4Ks shes at 4 miles so far with moderate grades. What was the lake behind you at the beginning? Looked like Northwood lake!

That's exciting, I love seeing kids out there. and that was just a lake in my neighborhood. It's a really pretty spot for filming intros

Another great video. But beginner level is driving up Mt Washington and hiking across the car park, remembering to rub some dirt on your face and mess up your hair while you're queuing to take your selfie haha ;)

@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker thankyou I just bought 2. I recently bought the osprey 55l aether backpack. One of the main reasons was bc they had hip belt pockets for easy access. Turned out to be too small for my phone. This is the perfect solution. Getting ready to start hitting the 48's next year. Your videos are inspiring.
