This one is one I've been getting requests for for quite a while, so I figured why not. The bit in the middle with WWII was a right faff to edit in HitFilm though...

ADDITIONAL INACCURACIES:
- I only just now (11th of February 2020) noticed that Taz's family's "dog" isn't even a dog, it's a turtle NAMED "dog". Turtles are also not native to Tasmania:

It was intended to take out what remained of the Spanish Armada after their failed attack in 1588 and to capture the Azores to use as a base for attacking the Spanish Treasure fleet. Poor planning and bad storms led to a Spanish victory.

If you _really_ want to reach, then maybe “Egypt invaded the Syrians” could be referring to the conquests of Syria under the Egyptian New Kingdom (16th/15th century BC). But that's quite far back, & it doesn't seem likely the song writers would know anything about that. I can’t figure out “[Syria] invaded the Arab Sheikhs” either, though. The closest thing I found was the Neo-Babylonian conquest of Tayma under Nabonidus. But, although Nabonidus was from Harran, which had previously been in Assyrian hands, the basic fact that Babylon is in Iraq (not Syria) disqualifies this campaign. I'm sure there's a Syria/Arabia conflict I'm just missing. Edit: I want to mention that I was thinking of instances of invasions from before 218 BC, since the song specifies that the 2nd Punic War occurred _after_ "Egypt invaded the Syrians" & "[Syria] invaded the Arab Sheiks", by saying that "Hannibal *then* invaded the Romans".

Fred Carrot Because it's something that occurred over 3,500 years ago, and is sorta obscure. The oldest events mentioned in the song are the 2nd Punic War (which is both well known, & only occurred 2,238 years ago), & the Trojan War (which is also well known, along with being semi-mythical).

Also another a major inaccuracy: The map that shows Germany invading, is very incorrect. Germany did not hold Italy, as shown on the map. Also, as shown on the map, Germany wasnt narrow. Looking at other countries: poland was not that large Switzerland did not have a curve going South And Austria is not that large either, on the far right hand side, in yellow.

A few innacuracies more: At 4:22, if the flag on the front left is the Brazilian flag then it is horribly innacurate, considering the Brazilian flag looks like this 🇧🇷. (I can’t for the life of me find any flags that look remotely like this, so I presume it is the Brazil flag.) Second, I don’t think that the song was meant to be in chronological order. If it was then you wouldn’t have had to point out nearly as many inaccuracies. Third, it is extremely strange that they barely gave any mention to the British Empire, one of, if not THE first things you think of when you hear “Invasion.” Finally, and as stated by multiple people, Napoleon was quite tall for his time. I know it says it in the description but I still want to say it. Hope you found that interesting! Edit: I do think that the Germany segment is meant to be in chronological order so correcting that is right.

The thing is about this song is that it is not in order because that would not rhyme thus making it sound worse they probably new the orders of dates but had to switch them around to make it work. It is somewhat accurate in the context of invasions although missing a few, also they forget the Soviet invasion of Finland in 1940 and 1944 (The Winter War 1940, and the Continuation War), Japan invading China, The Japanese occupation of The Philippines. There are reasons why they maybe didn't include the invasions I mentioned because there may not be a way to insert it into the song whilst still making it sound good. Other than these factors the song is still a banger none the less.

The one thing on the Invasion song "Germany" segment is I think you could go as far back as the early days even before the Holy Roman Empire for some of those. I know the Anglo-Sax was already mentioned; but I wouldn't be surprised if it was done just for lyrical flow to repeat something already mentioned. Cause I know in US history we just drop the universal label of German on every Germanic system: Austria, Prussia, Hessians, etc all get the German label.

I realise that this is pedantry but I seem to recall hearing somewhere that the country in this show is not Tasmania, but Tazmania, a fictional country. The sky always being yellow is a dig at the art style, which was done primarily to speed production. Surprised you didn't mention that the 'dog' is obviously a tortoise (or turtle as Americans always call them). 6:00 Impressed they drew in Scotland there, though forgetting Wales is no shock to me. Americans don't even know that country exists! In fairness to the song (the lyrics of which I actually find difficult to decipher) I don't think it's meant to be chronological.

Four days later and I have a bone to pick with this comment. The fictional country known as Tazmania is quite literally just Tasmania. It’s set place in Tasmania, as it’s “the land under down under”, and it has Tasmanian Devils and a Tasmanian wolf (which are only native to, well, Tasmania.) Also, Tasmania isn’t a country. Wales, sadly, is not a country in its own right. It shares the UK with England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. However, I am also surprised Deuterium couldn’t see that the tortoise wasn’t a dog. They called it a dog because it acted like one.

all i remember about my remade of the invasion song is that it starts the same, but instead of millions its thousands, and started with: "hannibal invaded the romans, but the romans invaded them, they invaded the gauls, hispanians and greeks!" and that the wwii part was like this: "germany annexed austria, then the sudetenland. germany annexed slovenia and invaded the czechs! While I know this is supposed to be pedantic for comedy, what I am very confused about is the constant noting of the invasions not being listed in order. But outside of a few specific instances (e.g. the Germans "invaded North Africa next"), the song never CLAIMS them to be in order, it's just a random list of various invasions. A large percentage of the video is thus devoted to nitpicking a claim that was never actually made. Even if that's supposed to be the joke, that it wasn't asserted to be in chronological order but is being analyzed as if it was, this being brought up over and over again unfortunately gets tedious very quickly.

But it was before the north of Brazil was even part of the Brazilian administration of the colonies.

At the time of the Napoleonic Wars, Wales was considered a fully constituent part of England. And today the two are still heavily intertwined. (There is not separate Welsh law, for example, while there is separate Scots and Irish law). And there was an English counter armada following the Spanish one but it, uh, didn't go very well.

Actually, during the Napoleonic wars wales was in fact not separate from England within the United Kingdom. It's why there are no Welsh elements on the flag, and why many states and institutions still group England and Wales together, as it was only somewhat recently that wales was separated.

Although the state was officially known as the 'Ottoman Empire' in historic vernacular, the Ottoman Empire at its time was referred to as Turkey to the Europeans. We don't refer to names of dynasties as nations names but only as historical eras. Another example would be China and the Qing Dynasty. The Qing are referred to as the historic era but the nation they ruled was still China.
